Added 2022-08-05 18:52:01 +0000 UTCWhen I saw the new "impossible sausage" being offered by Cracker Barrel, I thought, "Okay, not for me." But when I saw that people actually got pissed off that Cracker Barrel was offering it at all, I decided to try it at the earliest possible date.
Choice is good, people.

2022-08-10 04:27:52 +0000 UTCSpeaking for myself as someone who went vegan in mid-life, when it comes to meat substitutes, they're mostly for when I miss the flavors of things you can only really find in meat dishes, like, e.g., Italian sausage sandwiches. Along the same lines, I also use fake chicken (Sweet Earth brand is really good, if a little pricey) to make Jerk flavored dishes, which I wouldn't really know how to pull off without some sort of meat substitute.
