Monthly Challenge #2: Trance Development, Week 4! (April 21st-28th, 2025)

Welcome to the last week!

In this post, I’m going to write about both the last week itself and my experience of it… as well as the challenge as a whole! It might be a little bit longer because of this, so bear with me. Get comfy, grab a drink, and take a deep breath as we ease into things… with this Opening Statement, my blog post equivalent of foreplay.

We’ll begin with our usual reminder. (Though it’s now only historic.)

ONE LAST TIME… WHAT WERE THE RULES?

1. Pick your own trancing schedule (something that's a bit ambitious, but reachable) and stick to it. Can be "per week" or even "per month" or whatever, however you'd like to shape the goal yourself. I am aiming to trance daily; you don't have to, and you're not less valid for a lower goal.

2. They don't have to be just Jockout files.

3. The aim of this challenge is Trance Development. What's that?

Trance Development = developing your skill with trance.

Easy as that.

And… now… with that done…

How’d you do for your final week, FLOPOUT? Huh? I bet you FLOPPED, right? Don’t you USUALLY?

I only KIND OF flopped, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

5/7 days. It’s a good rate, proportionately, and I tranced like an hour + every day that I did tbh but I am still annoyed I didn’t get the last week Perfect.

It was a busy enough week; I recorded and delivered two comms, wrote two scripts and did a bunch of backend work that ate up energy. I was also on my little hiatus from socials (Discord/Bsky mainly). I enjoyed this a lot; I spend, probably too much time on Discord and want to try rein it in a bit, but it’s hard because I also want to contribute to my own community and make things a little more active. The reality is though that it does take energy which could otherwise go on like… making content/stuff people would value even MORE, so I’m torn on how relevant it actually is. At any rate, this lil getaway did overall Work Well for me and I’ll probs do another sometime… with less fanfare though, hahah. I felt a bit stupid even announcing it, so next time will just do an Irish Goodbye and slip out the door when I wanna take time off.

Said break ended up semi-ending sooner than expected, anyway. I had to return to Discord to process the end of my commission for the new Jockout pfp! You’ll have seen him by now if you’ve read this far; he’s my new icon pretty much everywhere. He was drawn by @thiagostuffandthings on Instagram. He’s a great artist, and definitely worth checking out. He is also a Patron, which is cool, though I didn’t know that before comming him hahaha. I’m very happy with it as both a Vibe to strive for and something that represents the energy I wanna bring as a ‘tist. Hope you all do too!

But I missed the two days I did… mostly just because life lifed me. I developed a migraine/I hurt my foot kinda badly lol so I was moody and annoyed over both those things, and then ended up failing out of a planned 7-day trance project on Day 4. (Which I’ll write about later in the post.)

Additionally, with monthly challenges like this, I find that my own momentum tends to die a little near the end, when the X-effect of ticking days off loses its charm. I’m gonna brainstorm a solution to that for my next one… buuut I’m pretty happy with how I did overall.

I think, out of 28 days, I hit 23 so like… that’s not bad for an ADHD dog with a lot to do, idk.

No matter how you did, I offer the same patpat to you if you tried at all! That takes energy and effort that can be hard to carve out, and I’m proud of you. If you didn’t… well, no patpat is given, but I probably like you anyways. You’re at least reading this post, which is appreciated!

April 21st (cont’d):

Power & Pleasure Cycle” & “Dog Days 1” by Ashdoge

Spiral Fetish” by Chewtoy

Okay! So first off, I did actually trance to 3 more files AFTER writing last week’s blog post lol so I’m gonna throw those in here.

“Power & Pleasure Cycle” is a file you can either loop/trance conventionally to that builds some bodybuilding/gym/sexual pleasure connections and seeks to motivate you by that mechanism. I did this pre-lift and found it enjoyable, but only gave it one shot so can’t say a tonnnn about it. Always love Ash’s voice though.

Hence why I also decided (foolishly) to do the whole Dog Days series this week, his 7-day Pup Play hypno training series. I’ve done it before and loved it but this week… I think I just wasn’t really in the headspace for it, and flunked out at Day 4. It is a great series if you’re a hypnodog, suuuper worth checking out. Took me from warm-but-neutral to pup play allllll the way into fully pupped out tbh so it’s a series I think of extremely fondly.

Aaaand my third trance to write about here was Chewtoy’s “Spiral Fetish” file, which seeks to install spirals as an ongoing trigger to induce trance. Still a WIP as a trigger but I love the file. 😗

April 22nd/23rd/24th:

Realizing Your Pup Potential” [2x] & “Dog Days 2” & “Dog Days 3” & “Dog Days 4” by Ashdoge

Now. Unfortunately for you all. Muuuuch of this week was pretty repetitive trance wise; I basically did the same files with 1/2 bonuses every day, so it’d be a LOT of copy and pasting if I just used the same description for them all lol. As a result, I’m not gonna keep describing Realizing Your Pup Potential and Spiral Fetish, which I did every day I tranced… and assume you can go back and read where I wrote about them first. Spiral Fetish, there’s just not a ton to write about; it’s fun, I like it, it’s part of my ongoing foray into conversational-style hypnosis which I like a lot.

Realizing Your Pup Potential, I wrote on last week and said:

(It’s) kinda hard to describe. I use it as a motivating piece, a way to help me get on track when I have a period I really wanna tunnel into my to-do list hard, but is definitely spicy/sexy and pup affirming. I don’t really know if I respond to the file in the way you’re supposed to, but I do seem to get more done in periods I’m drilling it. Since I’m taking a lil ascetic week away from my Jockout socials, and I wanna really try recalibrate myself to self-care and habits I’ve been neglecting, it felt like a good one to add to the rotation. I will PROBABLY listen to it every day for the next week and see how it goes!

I didn’t quite do it daily, but 5/7 isn’t bad. It’s a very comfortable, relaxing drop for me and one I like having in my back pocket.

Dog Days 2/3/4 build on Dog Days 1, and each other, which every progressive file installing a new idea/trigger. Dog Days 2 installs the idea of having a constantly-on hypnotic “collar” of obedience. Dog Days 3 builds on this with the image of a leash that is used to pull you into trance. And Dog Days 4 sets up the idea of a cage wherein thoughts, memories and anything, really can be locked away from you. It ends with locking away your ability to touch yourself; which feeds into the way that Dog Days, as a whole, is a seven-day period in which you’re meant to trance daily and NOT cum for that duration. Cumming is a reward at the end for doing well on your training.

This… is where I failed lol.

I’d been (a) very good (pup) in my last runs of DD and not cum at all; my last run, in fact, put me onto a month streak of denial. But I just wasn’t as into it this time, and lost my focus on it… I think this is at least partially because I got a migraine on Day 4 of the 7. Trance is as much a physiological state as anything else; a very real physical process in the body. So anything that can disrupt that (like the general neurological weirdness of a migraine) can disrupt your trance capacity too. I think because I did DD4 in that window of time right before the migraine started, the “you can’t touch yourself” thing just didn’t land as deeply in my brain.

In fact, I think what happened is: I caught myself breaking that rule by accident, realized I was doing so… and then thought “fuck it, I’ve already failed” and for some reason instead of just taking my hand away, gave up and got off. I was still tranced out so I was a little bit more impulsive.

(This does speak to a common issue I can have with triggers where, because I amnesia so easily… I literally forget to obey them, forget they even exist. And then I suddenly remember after I’ve been Doing It Wrong for a while. Oops.)

Finally, Conversational by Chewtoy is a fabulous, short piece that TOTALLY SOLD ME on conversational hypno as someone who is still new to it as a subject, and I am very gushy about it. Love. Heart-eyes. Etc. Idk if it’s free but it’s fun.

April 25th/26th:

Migraine + hurt my foot, moody, Flopout, it happens. I’d originally decided I’d just finish DD anyway despite having cum because tbh… I’d done it before and I was happy to forgive myself the lapse. But, despite trying to drop on the 25th, I just couldn’t.

The 26th got crazy, meanwhile. Our power was going so nuts we were worried there could be a fire risk; so the Irish electricity board came out to fix it for a few hours that night where I’d usually trance. So RIP but yknow, it happens.

April 27th/28th:

RYPP and Spiral Fetish, I’ve already written on.

Sucker for Spirals is, you guessed it, another spiral trigger file. I enjoyed it buuuut most of it is blackout for me which makes commentating it hard. I think it had a much less standard hypnotic delivery, so that’d make it conversational, but the details of said conversation… elude me, haha. InklingVA is another Irish male tist, so do check him out if you enjoy my accent; I’ve got his Soundgasm linked above with free stuff to try!

A bit of a whimper, rather than a bang, I fear… though perhaps that speaks more to my headspace at this moment than it does a true analysis of the Challenge.

Engagement felt both lower and deeper for this challenge than the previous; less people commented/engaged (especially here on Patreon) but those who did were WAY more in-depth and honestly… I loved seeing it. I appreciated the dedication people put to my own work in particular, and the amount of time they gave me. Really makes me feel like I’m Doing Something Right! ✌️ So thank you all very much for that. 😊

I think for my next challenge (which right now, I’m planning to be in July…) I’ll NOT just, randomly choose files as I go lol. I’ll make a plan, I’ll have a stricter writing process, and keep more on top of it than I did for this one, which felt extremely scattershot on my own end. The theme of Trance Development is also like, absolutely relevant. But it's quite vague to try break down - so either I won’t do a themed challenge next time, or I'll make it more concrete. Always room to reiterate and refine… 📝📝

In the meantime, I am going to take a (well-earned) break from trancing for a few days lol and then get back on the grind; which is “aspiring to trance daily” anyways tbh, just not quite as rigorous as I do for these months. I encourage you to do the same if you’d like, and if you’d been playing along; give yourself a little reset!

I think the acknowledgement that breaks are OK is super important - beating yourself up if you miss a day isn't making anything better, and getting that 23 days of trance out of 28 is still fantastic! You definitely got me intrigued with those Dog Days series (especially keeping you denied for a whole month, woof! 😻🍆🔒) gonna have to try those out going forward
