Here's an early sketch that I'll eventually get to colouring, not sure what to call this big bird yet so I'm open to ideas!
I realized my bestiary was lacking a lot of flying creatures, so after a lot of rough gesture drawing in my sketchbook I landed on a pretty interesting body shape...but then realized it's also not flying...
I based this one off a mix between a penguin and a vulture, thinking since penguins do spend a lot of time out of the water, perhaps with some future evolution and getting away from the pescatarian diet and bullet-shaped body needed for swimming this could be possible. The avian creature could become more of a terrestrial roamer, digging into the soil for vegetables with a hunched over gait.
And to my patreons, its an unintentional similarity to the Skeksis from Dark Crystal...just kinda happened.
