Making The Regulator And Suspension Post

Hi Folks,

In this video I make the suspension hardware that will support the pendulum. There's a bit of everything in this one; lathe, mill and hand finishing work, as well as some heat bluing of the fasteners.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Chris.

Awesome - thanks Chris!

AM de Jager

Wonderful, love the shots at the end. Love these videos so much.

Nils Rohwer

Thank you Chris! A beautiful morning, birds singing, bee's buzzing, the last of the "Baby Green" and a Clipspring video... Oh My, food for the soul. Speaking of food, I almost snatched that blued flat head off the screen and popped in my mouth. You've really created an amazing color of blue!! Also appreciated the way you attached that small cable to the silk for a pull...Nice! Squeaks and Giggles and a fine day to you too! ~PJ

Cheers Paul! I'm editing part 2 of the hand vise today, so that should be out for you in a few days :)

Will do, there is a bit of that in the next Patron Series video.

Hey John, so far I have not needed to worry about diameter calculations, it seems to work for any OD. I find traditional knurling to be quite hit and miss, but this rope knurl is surprisingly quick and easy. Cheers mate :)

Great job as always

kevin todd

I can only echo what's written below. This is so great!

Scott Clausen

Hah! I am with Scott, a much needed fix indeed! Thanks

Brent Reed

Ahhhh, I feel like an addict getting a much needed fix. Thanks Chris!

SCOTT SWAALEY

This was a nice surprise. I was waiting for part 2 of the hand vice but even better we get a new clock video. Great work as always..

Paul Busby

Really cool (as usual). Small request for a future video: Can you make a video where you show your hands while making the different cuts on the lathe (and mill). Having never used a metal lathe before I think it would be quite interesting to see that as well. Thanks!

AM de Jager

Did you have to calculate the size of the knob that you knurled so that it would be an even number of divisions?

John Creasey

Very nice as always! Thanks Chris. Can't wait for the next video!

Milan Juza

Looks great, interesting to see how it all comes together and how it works. Thanks!

George Harris

Hey Al, the bluing tray filled with brass chips gives good control of the temperature. Cheers, Chris.

Clickspring

Very nice as usual! How do you control the temperature when you are bluing the screws so that all of them have such a consistent color?

Al McKague

Thanks very much Alan, really pleased you enjoyed it :)

Clickspring

Absolutely gorgeous as always Chris!
