Our Father

It’s truly astounding to think that Jesus himself taught us how to pray. In doing so, he didn’t start with a list of ways to properly address God. He didn’t tell us to fall on our knees, beat our chests, or even bow our heads. His number one priority was to direct our attention to God as our Father. To know him as Jesus knew him—filled with glory yet personal and loving, a strong foundation to build our lives on.

God’s a perfect Father. If you had a poor example of a father, your heavenly Father wants to fill that void and give you a new perspective. Though his presence fills the heavenly realms, he longs to hold you close. He’s beckoning you to know him as both a glorious King and a loving Father.

Jesus, thank you for introducing me to God as my Father. Heal any areas in my heart that have been wounded by improper father figures and fill me with excitement and trust. I embrace my role as a child of God and run into my Father’s presence with open arms. Father, your love has become my foundation.
