Good morning!
“The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:10
Lions are typically considered pretty top of the food chain, so why would the author David use a lion as a metaphor here?
Because one of our biggest areas of weakness is when we think “in this area I am strong.” or “I can do this if I just have enough willpower, motivation, drive…etc”.
David reminds us that even the strong, top-of-the-heap “lion” will be weak and hungry if he doesn’t seek the Lord.
We all have areas in life where we think or act like the lion.
It is in the humbling of our spirit and flesh that we find every good thing that the Lord provides!
