God doesn’t withhold his presence from you in order to punish you. We go through dry seasons for many reasons, but all of them have the potential for an outrageously good outcome and a renewed desire for the Lord. There really is nothing like sensing his nearness after a period of stale, lifeless prayer.

If you’re going through a time of discouragement, desperately in need of his touch, I have good news for you—he is with you right now. It’s time for you to find the one that you adore, again. Find time for stillness. Focus on the love that is in you and all around you. Call for him and trust him to manifest his love again. God’s ability to speak to you is greater than your inability to hear him. Do this day after day until you become so focused on him that everything else fades away.

Lord, you are the overwhelming desire of my heart. Help me to move past the distractions swirling through my mind and to tap into your presence. I want every thought I think, every emotion I feel, and every agreement of my soul to be saturated with your truth. I’m running into your arms with fresh desire to know you more.
