The old axiom of "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" is good advice. There is always a nice way to have a discussion about a tough topic. I always try to come at it in love and compassion. If we are on the receiving end, we still need to look at the person in love and compassionate for their reasons for being offensive. Conversation > conflict. Also, Reason #4 You Love people where they are because you see their potential. I Love your Heart Sis!

All of your videos are packed with nuggets of wisdom, but this video I rate in the top 10 of all time! I, too, feel overwhelmed at times. Sides are so far apart and extreme that I ask myself if everyone has gone mad? I have learned the best way to interact with people I don’t know is to not appear aggressive, have a smile or at least a relaxed look on my face, and then start with a question. If I am in a park and someone is playing their music at 125 decibels, I may start with, “Who does that song?” Many times I can get a feel by the person’s demeanor. Hopefully a conversation will start and if after a few minutes the person seems reasonable and open, I may ask, “Wow, you really like to blast your music.” If the person acts somewhat open and asks, “Is it really that loud?”, then I may continue the conversation. If the person becomes overly defensive or appears frustrated I will then drop it. It’s touch and go and situation dependent on how far I go. It is quite scary to hear stories where someone accidentally picked up someone else’s order in a fast food place and they get shot!!! To sum up, I try to open a line of communication. Depending on what I receive back then determines my course of action. I really like the BTS footage (no pun intended 😊)
