Good morning!
One of the things my husband regularly reminds me of is how all of the people in the Bible had their own personal list of faults and shortcomings.
None of those things prevented them from being used by God. He specifically works through the weak and the ones who seem to have too many problems!
Why do you think that is? I think for one, it makes us relate. We have no excuse for ourselves! We know our own personal list and yet God has chosen each of us for a special purpose that is far above our own abilities.
When we stop making excuses or waiting to be cleaned up, we get to see the powerful God of the Universe work through us.
We do have to be humble and willing, though. God doesn’t work through people who think they can do it all on their own, those who are ego-driven. There is no open vessel for Him to pour through. He allows us to choose. That is part of the beautiful partnership invitation that we’ve been given an opportunity to choose.
If you are willing, simply open your heart and mind to Him. Pray: Father God, in my own strength I fail again and again, but in Your strength I can do all things. I want to be part of a purpose that is bigger than me. Show me more of You today. I don’t want to do this on my own. Thank You for sending Jesus to make the way. Help me to be open to the work of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
