“Bring Yahweh praise and you will find Him. Your hearts will overflow with life forever!” Psalm 22:26b
My son was talking about how we don’t find God, He comes to us. Then we accept or reject His invitation. This is so true! In our own humanity we don’t have it in us to be able to seek out God on our own. But, I love how this verse reminds us that in bringing praise to God, we will “find” Him and our hearts will overflow.
This is obvious when we have good reasons to praise God. When we bring the unlikely things to God in praise, we find ourselves deeply embedded in His Presence in a way that goes beyond our understanding. What a miraculous mindset shift!
Application: Today, look for an unlikely thing to praise God for and then say out loud “Praise the Lord” and mean it. Think about that.

I know that when things are going bad, I'm being annoyed or upset I've learned to start praising God for the situation. In doing that my focus shifts, my attitude and altitude improves. By giving God my trust it defuses the situation and I see beyond the issue. Our trust in Him draws him nearer to us. That is the power that elevates us.
