Good morning!
Grumbling……that word never sounds good. I wonder how many of us would admit to grumbling. We usually don’t consider our venting, our assessments of situations, our opinions about politics/people/etc to be grumbling. Let’s think about that.
I was listening to a meditation and the question was asked, “how often do you pray for those in government that you don’t agree with versus complaining about them?”
Ouch. That stopped me in my tracks. Immediately I started thanking God for those people for what He is doing in and through them. Just because I may not like everything that is happening, do I think I am God in deciding what He allows and how He is using things to fulfill His purposes?
Yes, we can have dialogue about these things, but we have to be cautious because these things can turn into grumblings and we may feel justified in them.
What is the solution? I think one solution is to start praising God for what He is doing and what He has allowed.
Thank You, Lord, that You are Sovereign and Almighty. I know that You have purposes and plans and that You are still in charge. You know how things are to unfold and You have reasons beyond our understanding. I trust You to be God and I am grateful that I am not. Thank You for reminding me to praise God for all that You have created. Let me see You in everything and shine Your light wherever I go. You are the Creator, the Savior, the only One that is trustworthy. Thank You for shining Your light into all the dark places in my life and in the lives of all who desperately need You! In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
