Weekly Update #41

This might be super late, or it might be right on time! I mean, for the past week, I've been considering whenever I wake up to when I go to sleep a "day." So, since I haven't slept since I woke up yesterday, that means that this is still technically Monday's work! Tuesday's work will start when I wake up later.

Meme, it's an older one, but I love it and recently found it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQWq8Iuxl3I&feature=youtu.be&has_verified=1

Weekly Worksheet: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CWQzGSq7gGYxfsS_Ck0GF3fJz74H6l5K

50 hours last week, woo. I'm getting back into the groove of things. Too bad starting off each Monday is always a pain. I'd probably be better off if I never took weekends off, but I need them or else I literally get nothing done other than writing >_>. Anyways, I've decided to simplify the worksheet. I'm just going to directly put all hours/words into their total tabs now rather than spread everything out and add it up.

The True Endgame

For those of you paying $10 or more, I think you can tell now where this volume is going. I think it's off to a good start so far with a decent pace and introductions of new characters!

The real question is whether or not any actual fishing will happen this volume.

Ero Dungeon Evolution

I would say that those of you paying $10 should be able to see where this is going, but you might have to wait a couple of chapters more for that! However, I will say that both Anna and a recently-introduced girl will be sharing the cover for the second volume. Let's just see if the cover gets done before this volume is over = P.

I'm not 100% happy with the transition from the previous arcs into this new one, but then again, web novels are just rough drafts. I'm at least 70% happy with it, and that final 30% can be worked out for the final (aka self-published) edition of the story. I think, out of all of my stories, EDE is probably the most "rough draft"-y one. There is just so much stuff that is going to need changed, cut out, and added in if I ever want to have the story on Amazon without getting in trouble. At least all the main characters have their personalities down. There won't be anything to change about Damian, Lily, Akorya, Thera, etc.

Steel Glory

Going from my own personal feelings + comments on RR and from you all (mainly on Discord), it seems like most of us are in agreement that the best parts of this story are the slice-of-life moments building up the characters and their relationships. Well, I can say that there is going to be much more of that coming in the upcoming arcs.

The Queen's Hound

woof. This story very well might hit 4,000 followers by the end of the month over on Royal Road and that's kind of insane to me. It's more popular than all of my other stories combined. I was confident it'd hit like 2,000 followers at most, probably, but nope. It blew that number out of the water and just keeps on rising. And my Patreon has almost doubled thanks to all of you pledging for this story, so thank you so much!

Lazy Dragon Queen

AKA BEST DRAGON QUEEN.

I'm probably going to make a blog post at some point gushing over the style I'm using for this story. Like, fuck, I just love writing in the style for LDQ (and Service for that matter) so much. It is, by far, the easiest style for me to write in while also being the most entertaining. It's so fucking good that it makes me want to rewrite all my other stories in this style, but that'd be way too much work >_>. Hot damn, though, call me a narcissist but I love my writing style for LDQ. I also love the level of humor and the type of comedy in it so far. This story is basically just another fanservice story to myself and I'm absolutely in love with it, and as soon as I can, I'm going to commission so much art. I'm also digging the longer-but-less-frequent chapter setup for it. The chapters are actual chapters in length, I feel like I have a good amount of progress/comedy/dialogue happening in each chapter, and basically... I guess I'm kind of going for a Monogatari style but with fantasy and litrpg mixed in. Monogatari is absolutely inspiring the comedy and humor involved, though, and it's only going to get better from here! There's going to be plenty of meta humor, slapstick humor, and just all sorts of humor.

Ahhhhh, and I have so many fun ideas in mind for this story, and writing something with zero limits installed in it is so relaxing. I can just write whatever I want without any care about whether it really works or not because the world is set up that way. I love it.

Also, inb4 this ends up being my most serious "dungeon" story and LitRPG. I swear it feels like more progress has been made in these first three chapters despite being pure SoL than in the first three chapters of all my other stories >_>. Did I finally learn how to do pacing?

I want to write more for this right now but I really need to sleep and then work on the other stories for Tuesday's "shift."

Too bad something like this story would never be as popular as The Queen's Hound. The Queen's Hound just appeals to that grittier and more serious style that the masses love. Don't get me wrong, I love TQH and all the characters, and I still have a ridiculous amount of content planned for the story, but I really wish that things like LDQ could be as popular as it. Alas, I figure this story would probably be pretty polarizing to audiences. It basically says "fuck you" to anybody expecting consistency and logic. Some people love that, some people really don't love that.

Either way, I think this might be my new favorite story. If not for how fun it is to write, it's relaxing to write. I actually feel more energized while writing it. I'm starting to think this might end up actually being my best work and I'm only three chapters in. I just think that my experimenting with writing styles,  experience in writing web serials for a year, and evolving my sense of humor that I write has all resulted in what is now Lazy Dragon Queen. I read the chapters and see the best out of all my writing in one. The first half of the first chapter probably needs fixed, but everything after that has been gold to me.

Anyways, the more I gush about my own story like some sort of narcissist, the less time I have to sleep.

In Closing

So, all my main stories are now over on Scribble Hub! Not only that, but The Queen's Hound is currently the best ranked/most trending story over there and they are way friendlier and more accepting of adult content than Royal Road. The owner himself basically told me that even a story with 50% sexual content is acceptable whereas even 20% sexual content is pushing it on Royal Road. So, Ero Dungeon Evolution is going to be allowed to be posted there in its entirety and uncensored.

If you're interested in reading a suggestion post I made for the site on its forum, you can check that out here: https://forum.scribblehub.com/threads/aces-many-suggestions.89/

Typing that up this morning ended up being the size of over 2 chapters in length and ate a good chunk of my time >_>.

You can also find my profile with all my stories here: https://www.scribblehub.com/profile/643/

I seriously recommend signing up on this site and trying to spread it around some more. Only The Queen's Hound, Monday Monster Girls, and Steel Glory are up to date on there, but the rest will be soon(tm) and I seriously believe that this site has got potential since it's being run by the same guy who owns and runs Novel Updates.

Anyways, that's all. I'm going to go to sleep for a few hours now. Goodnight (said at 3:02pm)!
