Weekly Update #45

Alright, doing this early this week. Anyways, apologies for the late posts recently! Even if I am still getting out all the posts I need to get out, I do feel guilty about them being late. They've been late lately because of the stupid mental block I've got right now. I've kept on telling myself for like, the past 2-3 weeks that once I'm done with all the chapters for the week that I'm going to go and finish everything else on my to-do list (which I talked about in previous weekly updates). So, this has resulted in me having the mindset of "oh, but as soon as I'm done writing, I have to go and do all of that stuff which I despise doing," which has resulted in me being slow with writing and posting since I don't want to do those other things I need to do. It's 100% my fault, don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to make an excuse; I'm just explaining how stupid my brain works. Rather than just get all the writing done on-time and then do the things I hate doing, my brain would rather have me procrastinate and then lose my entire weekend to playing catch-up. Oh, I also got distracted with worldbuilding/plotting for both woof and LDQ. Lots of fun things planned!

Anyways, I'm going to type this, go eat breakfast and make some coffee, figure out why my phone isn't charging, and then I'm going to force myself to finally do the horrible stuff first. I'm going to finish cross-posting about... 400 chapters at this point, try to revamp my site/Discord a bit, and do some cleaning. I should hopefully be able to get all of this done within 6 hours or so. I'll give myself until 5PM to do it. If I'm not done by 5PM, I'll switch to writing today's Woof chapter. That's 100% coming out today. In fact, I'm really excited about writing this one and really want to write it right now since I've already got it all planned in my head and everything, but I know that I need to force myself to do the boring things first or else my brain is going to continue being stupid all week.

You know, I seriously love writing. Writing brings me joy, I never get burnt out on it, and I can say 100% that I love it and have never not loved it. Even when I rewrite a chapter 2-3 times, I still love writing. But, you know what I hate? Maintaining chapters on multiple sites including my own website, editing, revising - everything that isn't just writing. Alas, it is doing all of those things I hate that make it so that I can continue doing this for a living. Writing never feels like work to me, but everything else related to writing sure does. So, time to force myself to do the boring stuff, and then I can focus on the stuff I love!

At least I still managed to get in about 37 hours even if I was slow as fuck last week.

The True Endgame

I wish there was a spoiler function for Patreon so that I could properly talk about the latest stuff without risking accidentally spoiling anybody paying under $10, but alas, there is not. So, to try and be vague, I think a lot of players in a realistic VRMMO would be like a certain group and like a certain, newly-introduced member of it.

Oh, I know what I can talk about without spoiling anything. Did you know that TTE was originally intended to be way lewder? I was originally planning on the story having way more sex in it, hence the whole "have sex to get respawn tokens" thing. You know, now that I think about it, both TTE and EDE were originally meant to be several times more erotic than they are. Though, if TTE was erotic as I thought it would end up being, then it would've been removed from Royal Road as well. Anyways, this new volume is, as it might be obvious by now, going to see some more lewd things and fanservice.

Ero Dungeon Evolution

Speaking of lewds, this story is starting to get a bit lewder more often now. Actual dungeon things are starting to be set up! But yeah, not really much to say this time that I didn't already basically say with TTE.

Steel Glory

Ah, Shitger. He's such a good boi. If this were any other story, he'd be the protagonist, but I really wanted to do a story from the teacher's perspective since all the other ones are always done from the student's perspective.

The Queen's Hound

I am so fucking hyped for this story moving forward thanks to some new ideas I got in the past week. Several new characters are going to be getting introduced in today's chapter, but one of them was only just created and had pretty much an entire major arc planned involving them in the past week. Very excited, and I hope that everybody enjoys the expanding cast and future plots as much as I do! Today's chapter might also end up being this volume's finale, but you never know. I've been saying "definitely tonight or next week" for like 4 weeks now.

Lazy Dragon Queen

I think this story will probably end up being somewhere between TTE and EDE when it comes to popularity. I think it's my best story in terms of style and pacing so far as well as "plot," but it's very random, weeby, not serious nor dark at all, and basically just pure fluffy slice of life featuring some LitRPG mechanics. I'll be happy if it can get at least 1k followers when I post it to RR, though. Also, I've discovered that planning towers, their upgrades, skills, etc. is really fun.

In Closing

Copy-pasting 400 chapters to other websites is going to seriously suck, but it's not going to get done if I don't force myself to just hurry up and get it over with. So, I'm going to go and do that now. Completion of that combined with my new-and-improved sleep schedule which is actually normal this time (but probably not for long) should result in chapters no longer being late! So, here's to hoping.
