thoughts

Good morning!

How much do you trust your thoughts? We are mostly familiar with the idea of not trusting our feelings, but what about our thoughts?

Do you think about your thoughts? How often do any of us go into a thought spiral that leads us toward anxiety, depression or self-loathing?!

In common culture it is referred to sometimes as self-talk. But what is our barometer for what thoughts should be allowed and which thoughts should be thrown out?

The world would say that you should keep the thoughts that sound positive. However, even these need to be questioned because they could be prideful, self-centered, and lead to negative outcomes because of a lack of humility (pride comes before the fall, right?)

“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. “ 2 Corinthians 10:5 TPT

It says EVERY thought. Not just the negative ones. The only way to know if a thought should truly be entertained is by knowing what God says, if you consider Him to be the authority on what is best for you.

Thoughts will come to us all day every day. I heard a speaker, Johnny Chang, describe it like spam mail. You can’t stop the mail from coming, but you can choose what you open, what you trash and what you mark as spam immediately.

In the near future I will make a video with more on this. I think it is crucial to our overall health and wellness and we cannot ignore this.

Take all those thoughts captive to Christ. If they don’t line up with God’s Word, then they come from “someone” opposing God…..our enemy. Mark them as spam and move on!

So very true, Our thoughts can be deceptive and prideful. It is a moral weakness that the world labels as good and healthy. If we count it all as weakness and allow God to be our filter, we will be strong in our weakness.
