February Dormitory Diary Entry - Sakamoto

Hey, Sakamoto here.

Here’s my dormitory diary entry for February.

I’ve been continuing work on the same project I mentioned in my last entry, and I’ve been able to work on in-between animation with amazing, veteran animators. When I got the materials for the cut, I had no idea who made them, but when I took a look at them they were so beautiful that I was shaking! After a bit of research, I come to find out there that they have quite a following of people who make animation compilations of their world. Their specialty is explosions, and they’re amazing.

I've been watching "Blue Lock" every week, and the transition between each ‘hype-up moment’ to when they take the shot is so sick, I never get tired of seeing it. Also, the way the scenes are directed is incredible. They slow down certain and use minimalistic animation, sometimes in a single cut, to show off the super-techniques and composite them in with more animated parts of the shot. It makes the whole scene feel so amazing with all of the camera work, effects, music, and dialogue. It's an old technique, but this sort of directing style never ceases to amaze me.
