Watching Blizzard: We're ready for the weekend... or are we?
Added 2018-02-10 04:43:42 +0000 UTCAnd the weekend means everyone should be finishing up their reputation farming while the World Quest Bonus Event and Darkmoon Faire are still going on. Which, now that I think about it, doing every World Quest on my map is not actually that much fun. By the end of the weekend I may be looking forward to Monday.
But before I dive back into my unending World Quest nightmare, let's take a look at the news from today, plus the highlights from the week.
This week in lore, we took a look at the history of some of our new allies
- Rossi went over the history of Huln and the Highmountain.
- And Anne covered the Void Elves.
The Battle for Azeroth beta is here, with plenty of new info
- Yep, the alpha test has begun. And, unfortunately, the system requirements are higher.
- Rossi takes a look at how class buffs work in the alpha.
- Anne has put together a gallery of one of the alpha zones: Drustvar.
- There's been a lot of datamining going on, but all we care about is the Vulpera.
All hail our new (short-lived) Heroes of the Storm overlord
- Maiev arrived in the Nexus this week, and she is a true menace to everyone who's not Maiev.
- ...and almost immediately she was nerfed, making her somewhat less of an overlord.
Jeff (and Geoff) from the Overwatch team
- One of the great things about Overwatch is how chatty the devs are. Jeff gave us a rundown of hero reworks in progress, and Geoff gave us some details on what's coming up and what the team has tried so far.
- In the ongoing saga against gaming toxicity, Twitch is now banning people for bad behavior on other social platforms. This is something Overwatch does does, too, so don't brag about your bad in-game behavior elsewhere.
- And on the competitive side of the game, don't forget, Overwatch League Stage 1 wraps up this weekend.

A new Hearthstone patch rolled out this week
- Surprise! It comes with nerfs.But for anyone who wasn't running a Raza Priest, that's probably good news.
