2022-03-09 19:08:08 +0000 UTCGreat reaction to this Oscar-Winning classic! What happened to McMurphy at the end is they lobotomized him. Joy noticed the 2 scars on his head. They performed surgery on his brain to make him permanently calm, turning him into a thoughtless zombie. He was pretty much brain-dead. This surgery was performed in the old days, when psychiatric studies and medicine were not as advanced. The “Chief” just put McMurphy out of his misery.
