Rise of the Battlemage Poll (Suggestions)

Hello everyone! So, the Skyforged are going on another mission! Before that, there was mention of procuring another carrier ship, one to carry the V-Wings and their pilots. This is the first stage of selecting that/those ships, the suggestion stage!
Please submit ships that the crew could purchase or steal, with the express purpose of them being a carrier for a full squadron (Twelve) of V-Wings. This could be two ships of the same make, or one single ship. After a week, I will take the best suggestion (by my standards) and create a poll for everyone to vote on. Please, keep in mind:
Crew size (To big isn't realistic)
Practicality of acquisition
Practicality of maintenance (Both of the actual ship and the onboard starfighters)
I will happily accept suggestions for ships from outside star wars, as long as they are reasonable. I will likely have to mix up their stats to make them fit, but that's easily done in most cases. The final poll will have some of my own suggestions if enough aren't generated here.

How about a converted Action VI transport. It requires 8 crew, has plenty of cargo capacity, is under 150m. It also has a history of being converted into pirate vessels. It is readily available and relatively easy to steal from the empire because it is unarmed in stock configurations.

2024-03-22 14:45:34 +0000 UTCThe marauder class stands out to me as both a badass and heavily customizable ship, as well as fitting these needs perfectly. For plot, it will be attainable for Skyforged to capture one, as they would primarily be used by Imperial outer rim patrols, or criminal syndicates. The 12 starfighter complement as well as the extra storage space for a small ground force leave the SV with room to grow, as well as a central location to organize and deploy their ground forces. We could also see a modification to have both turbolasers and missile launchers, which would significantly increase firepower and versatility. Acquisition of a diamond boron missile stockpile is another fantastic future mission option.

Turn the space where all the cargo pods would go into a enclosed full length flight deck like in Battlestar Galactica and there you go, escort carrier.

2024-03-21 06:04:04 +0000 UTCthat would actually be pretty cool. replace the kinetic cannons with either light blaster cannons for anti-starfighter work or light turbolasers and you have a pretty tanky light carrier

2024-03-21 04:17:43 +0000 UTCHammerhead Cruisers are also in the 300+ range unfortunately, they sit at 315 meters

2024-03-21 04:16:01 +0000 UTCHow about the Adament class frigate from Battlestar Galactica Deadlock game? Link to wiki: https://battlestargalacticadeadlock.fandom.com/wiki/Adamant It is lightly armed with only 8 light turrets, and has only one hanger, but is extremely well armored for a ship of its size, with a comparison to being a mini Battlestar.

2024-03-20 20:33:42 +0000 UTCHow about a Hammerhead corvette. They could be modified to be a smaller carrier.

2024-03-20 20:21:19 +0000 UTCThe same would apply to other variants like a CR70

2024-03-20 20:19:43 +0000 UTCLiterally anything other than a CR90 that ship has only one purpose, getting your leader captured by Vader.

2024-03-20 20:18:43 +0000 UTCI would personally go for a Lucrehulk-class battleship that has automation, can be used as a mobile base, and it can also be a mobile mini factory if needed. At least that's how I have always seen the potential they had.

2024-03-20 19:38:00 +0000 UTCWhat about salvaging the dreadnoughts from the Katana Fleet? They are supposed to be heavily automated to cut down on crewing requirements. For what you are asking for a dreadnought class heavy cruiser is overkill and even automated requires more crew than SV can supply but it would be a cool if SV tracked down the missing “Dark Force” for the rebellion.

2024-03-20 19:26:09 +0000 UTCMaybe too big, but I love them, so how about: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Class_546_Cruiser or https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Gladiator-class_Star_Destroyer/Legends And if not, then how about: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Phoenix_Home

2024-03-20 19:07:34 +0000 UTCAt that sub 300M scale, you really have two options, a converted bulk freighter, or a Corvette that has or has had a hangar added. I would recommend the Corvette, either a Marauder class, or a CR-90 with the farstar conversion. Both carry 12 small fighters, a couple of shuttles, and need minimum 50 crew, full compliment is closer to 150-200. Both sub 200M.

2024-03-20 19:06:04 +0000 UTCUnfortunatley a lot of carrier capable ships tend to be 3-400 meters unless you look at old republic stuff like hammerhead cruisers or preatorian frigates

2024-03-20 18:39:24 +0000 UTCThat's a bit on the large size, bit it's got potential

2024-03-20 18:36:12 +0000 UTCMaybe a CIS captor class Munitions cruiser Automated carrier? can carry 30 fighters and was heavily automated. They were produced for decades before and during the clone wars as carrier and armed cargo ships so plenty of spare parts in existance, and should be relativly easy to aqquire
