Public Release: Devious World a49, Devious Mundanity a1

So here it is everybody, the first public release of the "DLC" for Devious World, Devious Mundanity! But first, what we have new from Devious World:

• Main: Ranma can now take a look at the haunted devil painting.
• Main: Cyan can now keep walking after seeing her father's car parked at the phone store.
• Main: Cypher can now beg Klydess to use his "special ability".

The Ranma stuff is a pretty big chunk of content, but obviously from the short list a lot of work this month went into Devious Mundanity. And I'll admit, I'll probably focus on it a lot in the coming month or two as well... I'm still very firm in that Devious World isn't getting sidelined or abandoned in favor of it, so let me explain.

For a good number of years now I've been writing on Devious World for practically all the writing I do, and virtually all of its characters have one thing in common: They're out of their depth and just bungling ahead as best they can. (Kinda realistic in that way at least, huh?) Even my side projects have been mainly around that theme. And while I love that whole concept, after awhile it can get tiring. I never realized how refreshing it could be to use Devious World style writing with characters that are competent, in control, and knowledgeable about what they're dealing with from the start. These characters have a lot more agency, and I found myself feeling a lot more free about where I could send them and what I could do with them. I spent extra time working on it because the stories flowed better and were easier to tell, there was less stumbling around in the dark on the narrative's part.

So yeah, I'm hoping that you'll enjoy the new content, and enjoy it enough that you'll indulge me and stick with me as I give it some focus for awhile. I probably just need to get it out of my system, y'know? Either way, I promise there will still be plenty of content coming out, and hopefully the new freedom to focus on and create certain types of characters for Devious Mundanity will let me make Devious World a bit more focused.

Oh, I'll address the whole contest thing most of you probably forgot about in a post later today or maybe next week. I only got one entry anyway, so it looks like that entrant will win by default and pick the name of the town where Valerie's university is, Edi lands, and so on. (If you did send an entry and I just never got it, let me know in the comments.)
