Incremental: DW a80.1-F & Cult of Layla

So this week we have a bit of Cyan stuff with Cam, and a new path for Layla that leads to a new sub-game.

Yeah, I'm back on my bullshit and giving it another try. I'll yap a bit more about that after the links.

But yes, Cult of Layla is playable as a standalone game. (The name's a semi-placeholder, I may come up with something better later.) You may recall me backburnering Farmster Girl World pretty hard, so what's the deal here?

Well, I got way overambitious with Farmster Girl World, as is my wont. I wanted it to do too many things and, to be honest, give the player too much ability to sandbox. (You have no idea what a huge pain in the ass it was to do scene coding just because I didn't railroad you into getting the not!Pokedex.) There were a ton of different variables, moving parts, and adjustments, it was too complex, and a lot of factors meant that working on it became a toxic experience.

Cult of Layla is much more straightforward and streamlined. It's actually probably more streamlined right now than Capture is. I'm also not gonna be afraid to railroad you just a bit or let stuff repeat without comment. (I did come up with a nice system where once I add new scenes you'll get those automatically though.) I'm going to do my best to keep it fairly straightforward and not add a ton of stuff until I'm sure how, and hopefully as I learn on it I can eventually go back and apply that learning to Capture and Farmster Girl World.

Right now it's in a kind of technically playable state. You can start your cult, visit a location, recruit one follower (repeatedly), and then sacrifice that follower for a blessing. Not super elaborate right now, and I'm going to try to keep it similarly straightforward for at least a good long while.

I'm also begging you that if there are bugs give me until Sunday evening to start reporting them. x.x
