Clearly displeased by his last remark, Ellaine turned to face the Proprietor with a dangerous look on her dark obsidian eyes.
"In the category of people that will inevitably cause us trouble, I do not believe you get a say in this matter, not since you brought home that woman." Ellaine said, slightly raising her voice.
'That woman' of course pertaining to Zoe, a former agent of the dark empire who invaded Santion a place they used to call home.
"Threats outside the city walls I can deal with, but if you taking in Vanis would cause friction from your people (mages) then that's something entirely different." the Proprietor replied calmly.
"I do not appreciate being pressed regarding this subject as if I do not know what I am getting myself into. Vanis stays! whether you know the circumstances behind it or not." Ellaine said with finality and she stormed off nearly bumping into Zoe who happens to be walking in the corridor carrying a wash basin.
"What was that about? I thought you two already made up" Zoe asked raising her eyebrows.
"Apparently not" the Proprietor said followed by a deep sigh.
