I met someone during a DnD session, he's an artist that also draws DnD themed characters.
I don't say this lightly but subjectively I am of the opinion that my works look better than anything in his portfolio, however I noticed that his drawings are all consistent. All the characters' features are visually uniform from all angles.
I asked him how he was able to achieve such results, and one advice he gave me is to assign a face (a real life face) to the characters, it could be a celebrity or anyone I know personally.
The objective was not to draw the characters to exactly resemble the real life counterpart, but to picture the real person's face in my mind and draw with that mental image as a guideline.
So I guess I'm going to try that method, and see if it would make the facial features of my drawings more even.
