Update for the week ending on 09-06-25

This week was a little ‘short’ writing wise. Monday was a holiday, here in Canada, and on Wednesday afternoon, a friend dropped by for a visit. I’d planning on using my Thursday ‘write for me’ block to make up the Technician’s Fight chapter, but that ended up not happening.
So, this week, it was two chapters for Mind Your Step, one chapter for The Technician’s Fight, and one chapter for Harker, and the reading of the outline for The Daughter.
Relating to Harker, I found a character with a full storyline, but he’s going to show up in year three. So I still have year one and two to figure out. I did work out that what I’ll probably do, over all, is have Patrick’s story, when I can figure that one out, spread over the four year, with each year having a ‘quicker’ story about someone else. Year one, will probably be Claudia, and Colby, year two Emil, year three Jayson. Don’t have a year four yet, although I have the feeling Champ might become it.

Other stuff
The keyboard is basically done. Made the wrist rest out of a couple of tension balls, those filled with fine sand. The cable I’d ordered to connect the two halves turned out to be the wrong one, because I didn’t bother reading the description, so I am expecting the replacement this weekend.
Patreon had given us a new Dashboard, and as expected it’s causing my page problems. Some I can fix, others, I have no idea what to do about. Hopefully, Patreon will resolve those quickly.
And one of the reason I couldn’t catch up on the Technician’s Fight chapter on Thursday, is that a reader dropped by in my stream to point out there were a bunch of ‘cliffle’ in chapter of Stepping Up. Those came about when I realized that a character I’d named Cliff in book 1, I’d somehow renamed Chuck, in book two. I did a find/replace, not realizing that a number of my characters chuckle.
An annoying aspect of being told that was that I was certain I’d already fixed the problem. I did confirm my master manuscript had been corrected, and in the process of going over the chapters to find those that had the mistake, I realized this was more a case of me missing a few chapters, rather than forgetting to fix the mistake entirely. It was still time consuming.
That’s basically it.
