Our First Post

This is an example of a non-paid AniDB post. This does not charge our Patrons and will serve as notifications to our supporters. Our first paid post will be around the middle of February. Patreon will then charge everyone the 1st of the following month, which in this case is March 1st. Once that is complete, we will follow-up with another non-paid post, highlighting the results and when our next expected paid post will be.
Currently, our plan is to build a $1,000 USD reserve / rainy-day fund, in case anything goes wrong. As such, for the first few months we will be posting once a month to build this war-chest. Afterwards, the postings will start to skip months in order to avoid an excessive surplus of funds.
A lot of effort was put into planning to minimize costs and maintenance effort, while keeping in mind the legal, regulatory, and administrative hurdles that come with the global nature of AniDB's userbase. We try to do so while keeping everything as transparent as is prudent. Please have patience with us as everything is rolled out and we hit any unexpected bumps.
The support from the community has been very encouraging to us, and together we can keep AniDB ad-free, and open to everyone for many many years to come.
