2022 Halloween Patreon Campaign Banner Contest!

Hi everyone,

Halloween is just around the corner! In Japan, rather than an event for young children to go trick-or-treating, Halloween is more of an adolescent event, meant for young adults, an overall older audience than in Western countries. This makes for a very exciting time for teenagers and young adults as they come of age!

Thank you again to all of our Patreon supporters for keeping us alive. As mentioned during the 2022 Valentine's campaign, this October/November we will be refilling the AniDB bank account with a new fundraising Patreon post.

The Contest

For this contest, submit a Halloween themed AniDB anime banner! The winning banner will be featured as our 2022 Halloween Patreon fundraising post banner. The banner should tie in Halloween themes with both anime and AniDB.

What does a 'Halloween theme' entail?

The theme centres around costumes and cosplay! Children, teenagers, and adults alike get to dress up and have fun.

Some illustrative examples include:
1. Wearing costumes
2. Trick-or-treating
3. Parties at night
4. eating candy
Etc. This list is non-exhaustive.

The Prize

1. The winner will have their banner and username (unless you choose to remain anonymous) featured publicly on our upcoming 2022 Halloween Patreon fundraising post.
2. The winner will also receive a Creative Content badge on their userpage.

The Rules

1. Anyone can participate, both Patrons and regular users.
2. The submission period will be open from 2022-Oct-1 Saturday to 2022-Oct-21 Friday.
3. To enter your submission, simply reply to this AniDB forum thread with your picture.
   1. Upload your image to one of the whitelisted image hosts. imgur.com is preferred. Whitelisted hosts: abload.de, tinypic.com, flickr.com, imgsafe.org, imgur.com, ipfs.pics, photobucket.com, picload.org, postimage.org, puu.sh
   2. Embed your image in your reply using the image tags.
   3. If you wish to make an anonymous submission, send an AniDB forum PM to CDB-Man instead.
4. The voting period will be from 2022-Oct-22 Saturday to 2022-Oct-29 Saturday. You may vote on as many images as you like.
5. If we suspect vote stuffing, then the staff will take this into consideration when looking at the results, and discard entries if needed.
6. In the unlikely event of a tie, the AniDB staff will decide the winner.

Image Requirements

1. Submit an AniDB anime image that will be used as the banner on our upcoming Patreon fundraising post. The banner should tie in this contest's theme (as described above) with both anime and AniDB.
2. You are allowed to use the AniDB logo in your image, and it is encouraged!
3. Original content is preferred, remixed content is acceptable.
4. Since the images will be posted on our public Patreon page, all images must be family-friendly, for all ages.
   1. 18+ / adult images will not be accepted.
   2. For borderline / ecchi images, the staff (mainly CDB-Man) will have sole discretion to accept or reject the submission. Note: we will lean on the more conservative side.
5. You are allowed to sign your image with your name (and optionally, your AniDB user ID). Please have the signature in the bottom-right corner.
6. All images should be submitted in PNG format to comply with Patreon's requirements.
7. For a Patreon post, a 16:9 ratio image would fit best.
8. Images should be high resolution, 1080 x 1920 at minimum.
9. We reserve the right to disqualify images that don't meet minimum quality standards.

The AniDB logo source files can be found on the original post on our Forum.

I'd also like to ask everyone to name the characters and anime contained in your submission.  It helps a lot to identify who they are!
