Dungeon of the Endless ultrawide and wider solution
Added 2022-07-08 08:20:26 +0000 UTCI received a request for a fix for this game made by the creators of Endless Space, more recently known for Humankind and the upcoming Endless Dungeon. The person told me they had tried hex editing the game files to no avail, so although I did not own the game, I purchased it just for the task.
The game properly scales its UI for ultrawide and even expands the view at the menu, but then stretches from 16:9 at the gameplay and warns of this very issue when an unsupported resolution is selected in the settings.
The game is on Unity, so it wasn't like entering uncharted territory, and it didn't take too long for me to get to the code responsible for the stretching. Wait, what code? :D
I contained the solution to a simple patcher. The game may not be very recent, but as always, better late than never, especially when there is nothing big and new right around the corner.
