We take a great deal of pride in the “Storm” brand, as it represents the communities of Argyle and Stephen and what we stand for. We feel this issue can be an opportunity to become better in the ways we treat people, the communication we have with each other in person and online, and to understand that the world is full of diverse people – We have the opportunity to learn to respect and appreciate our differences as individuals. Race/Culture/Equity are very sensitive topics in today’s world and we need to be able to address these topics in a manner that prepares our youth to be successful. The safety of our children in online settings in an additional issue that we must continue to focus on through education. Even though these are sensitive topics, they are part of our students’ daily lives and we need to be proactive in our educational approach to these topics. This issue has brought forward that as a school district and communities, we can be better and grow in these areas to be better people. Our differences make us stronger and our commitments to respect and responsibility make this an opportunity for growth. As an educational team, we are working to secure resources to address these issues in a manner that reflects the values and ethics of our communities. We believe that this work will make us all better and provide educational opportunities for our children and community members.
