2025-03-12 22:36:32 +0000 UTCWow, what a masterclass! That was exactly what I was asking for in the Blaze VOD analysis. Correct me if I'm wrong and got this misunderstood. So basically it all boils down to playing to your advantage in the most efficient way possible right? So it is not a matter of waveclear offlaner versus trading/fighting offlaner, it more that both heroes have like a strength score for both waveclear and trading/fighting. So in this case your waveclear is not that bad but he wins it in spades against you, and Blaze can trade okay but in this matchup you trade better. If the other guy was like a Thrall, well now you have better waveclear and the trade is not so clearly better, so you would try to play to clear the wave and probably use that priority to roam Middle or to another lane to soak more than him, provoke an outnumbered fight and, above all, avoid fighting with him. If the other guy was like an Yrel or a Malthael, even though Yrel doesn't have that much waveclear, then the waveclear is not that better and the trading is also not very good. Then you would try to admit the loss of the lane and find value elsewhere first right? Like, help clear another lane, help doing a camp, help in picking a kill and only go to the lane to catch the soak after they cleared it.
