Genji Tips (Grandmaster VOD Analysis)

If you are looking for the Genji Comprehensive Guide, just search Genji in the Patreon search bar!

If you want to see a real game example of how to use Genji and what things you should be looking out for, I talk about some of them in these Grandmaster games that I played with Genji!

Reading who the enemy is focusing is very logical as all things but takes a long time to master. An easy example is If the enemy team has an anubarak and an uther, if Anubarak burrows and stuns someone on my team and the entire enemy team starts moving towards them, its fairly obvious they are focusing on the target that anub stunned and I will move forward to attack since the focus there is not on me. If the uther then sees me moving closer and changes his pathing from running towards the stunned target to running towards me, then I will retreat because I can read from his actions that he sees a new target (me) and whereas previously I was not at risk, now due to the change in his actions I am at risk so I will then move backwards upon seeing that.

I have a question. This is not strictly for genji I belive, but I see than in many of these VOD anaysis you talk a lot about the concept of focus. I see that there is a great tendency for that, you essentially commit a lot without fear and only when you start seeing/realizing you are being the target then you use your defensive tools or disengage. I belive this is why it feels like you are so annoying when you are playing because, everytime you can attack in an aggressive position you do it but when they want to attack you back you are not there anymore, but then they lose interest in targeting you and you get back in. Can you clarify this concept a bit? Just because, I feel like it is an important idea I haven't thought about, at least me. Also, about X-Strike, the 3rd slash where genji falls they all do damage but only in the center or the intersection of both slashes does it do twice the damage (both slashes added). If a hero is not in the center but is hit with one of the slashes, he takes the damage of one slash. Thank you for the VOD analysis Fan!! :)
