2023-12-08 22:21:37 +0000 UTCThe producers of Return to Oz could not obtain rights to the character designs created for the iconic MGM musical of 939, but had to use the illustrations and text from the L. Frank Baum sequel book. Before the MGM film was reissued in the 1950s I read all the books. The movie greatly disappointed me because it wasnβt scary enough and I thought it was a terrible thing that Dorothyβs memories of Oz were merely dreams!
