Added 2019-01-13 00:39:11 +0000 UTCDeep themes run through this show, with allegations of Japanese war crimes and atrocities in China at the start leading to eerily familiar, almost modern questions over how the world should respond. And then Dec 7, 1941 arrives...

Oh, Dan! You Prince of Men! You King of the Podcasts! Thanks for everything!
2021-06-09 04:24:46 +0000 UTCSecond that, I bought the back catalog last year when I discovered this and enjoyed for months. Best investment for a long distance commuter.
2020-12-01 16:21:52 +0000 UTCI would recommend considering the back cataloge from the website. Its a one time purchase, helps Dan, and has kept me going on many trips.
2019-05-22 21:08:13 +0000 UTCI don't know if you read these comments, Mr.Carlin, but here goes... I've learned more about history from you than any other source. So has my 15 year old nephew who I introduced your podcasts to when he was 11 years old. He actually complained to me that his history teacher was too boring because he learned "all this stuff" from you. I hope you unleash "Supernova In the East III" soon. Both my nephew and I get desperate for good "historytelling" in the gaps between your episodes.
2019-04-17 21:24:46 +0000 UTCThis was my first episode of Hardcore History and I'm addicted. I went back and listened to the first installment of SuperNova in the East and am already just finished with Blueprint for Armageddon IV. Wow just wow. I don't think I've ever been more interested in history than I am now.

2019-04-09 05:06:16 +0000 UTCAmazing episode as always. You recommend a lot of books- if you were to say something like "I know I recommend a lot of books but if I can use my one MUST READ recommendation for the year I want you to read ____" then I'd totally read it!

2019-02-06 10:35:21 +0000 UTCI'm loving this series Dan. I just moved to Taiwan last year, so it's great timing. I hope you include some details about Taiwan as a Japanese colony. Taiwan is a bit unusual in that people here didn't have too many hard feelings about Japan, and Japan built a lot of infrastructure here.

2019-01-28 06:19:04 +0000 UTCphew. that one was a doozy. Great stuff as ever, Dan.
2019-01-18 18:27:53 +0000 UTCGreat episode, but I missed the usual hardcore history intro music "December 7th 1941..." (and that FDR clips not in the pod either come to think of it, despite being about this episode!!). Intro music is my favourite part, whets my appetite big time. Bring it back for the next one please!!!

2019-01-17 10:49:13 +0000 UTCWhen a new episode comes out there’s nothing like taking the day off and going on a serious cleaning binge while listening. Some of my favorite days of the year! Thanks Dan for everything.

2019-01-16 02:20:42 +0000 UTCA buck a show doesn't feel like enough for this level of content. Add a few more tiers Dan.
