This completely changed my thinking about the Pacific theater, and I came through the whole experience with a lot of empathy for the majority of the Japanese at this time who were really swept along by the inertia of colonialism. I couldn’t help but think it could all have been avoided with open dialogue. Fantastic!

2021-10-13 11:03:04 +0000 UTCI just recently finished all of Supernova.. I found myself driving, listening to the section on Peleliu. My grandfather was a Marine serving in the pacific. His nickname was “Chief” due to his Cherokee heritage… absorbing that section of the program brought tears to my eyes. It’s so eye opening to hear what these people went through. Bravo on the enlightening, Dan. Bravo.
2021-10-09 02:05:57 +0000 UTCJust finished listening to Supernova. I really can't commend Dan and his team highly enough - it was utterly absorbing and hugely informative and so good that, despite having very little time to get onto websites, and despite being very unlikely ever to post anything again, I am happy to pay the monthly charge to support the creation of more such content in future - so here I am. Well done and, frankly, thank you.
2021-08-23 01:10:41 +0000 UTCI agree, but haven't listened to it yet. Dan has the same problem with Charlemagne (Thor’s Angels) and Cleaopatra (Fall of Rome), hard to tell a story without it branching out of control. Per King of Kings podcast, goal of news is to convey the information of the story in the most interesting way possible. And when Dan tries to convey the information in the most interesting way possible it spiderwebs out and is hard to contain(Charlemagne and Cleopatra). So war aftermath could be a good evening pallet cleanser. I think we need to force Dan to go back to the ancient world, we need characters in sandals doing great things. Alexander the Great conquered the world in sandals!

2021-08-05 17:21:27 +0000 UTCSome of that was genuinely hard to listen to, incredible stuff. Completely given me a new perspective on the use of the atomic bomb.
2021-07-05 19:20:03 +0000 UTCGreat show, and great conclusion, but to me it felt very abrupt. You spent a lot of time on the lead-up to war, but very little time on the aftermath. It felt a lot like "Japan surrendered the end". I think this series would greatly benefit from a postscript or epilogue covering the next couple of years in the Pacific. The war crimes trials, the demilitarization of Japan, and demobilization of the US, and other "aftermath-ey" type stuff.

2021-07-03 06:40:29 +0000 UTCGreat conclusion, Thanks Dan (and Ben if you do exist...)

2021-06-29 20:13:09 +0000 UTCGreat show! But I hoped to hear at least some mention about the Manchurian strategic offensive operation by Soviet troops. The Soviet entry into the war and the defeat of the Kwantung Army was a significant factor in the Japanese government's decision to surrender unconditionally.
2021-06-26 15:45:33 +0000 UTCThanks, I did it too
2021-06-25 15:33:50 +0000 UTCYou can change it to a custom value. I did.
2021-06-25 14:10:14 +0000 UTCThank you Dan for another amazing (and horrifying) episode! Hardcore history has been my favorite podcast for years 🙏 PS: $1 per 3+ hours episode is such a steal! I don't know how y'all do it but I think you deserve more. How about adding new tiers? 💸❤️
2021-06-22 01:50:52 +0000 UTCLink to VI rather than IV that worked for me: https://dts.podtrac.com/redirect.mp3/https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/dancarlinhh/dchha67_Supernova_in_the_East_VI.mp3

2021-06-13 12:34:04 +0000 UTCThanks, Dan. Enjoying the first hour so far!
2021-06-12 16:02:38 +0000 UTCExcellent work, best podcast out there
2021-06-12 01:54:33 +0000 UTCI listened to it on youtube, great work once again! But when I follow the posted link here, I get redirected to episode 65 (Supernove part IV)? I wanted to download the new episode, and I was just able to do that via the homepage, so I'm good. Just thought someone should maybe know about this odd redirect. I tried it in two different-ish browsers (Waterfox and Waterfox Classic), and since my cache is purged reasonably regularly, certainly a few times since episode 65, I doubt that that is it.

2021-06-11 16:33:05 +0000 UTCSo good Dan! Thank you thank you. We can tell a huge amount went into this series, it's much appreciated!

2021-06-11 11:02:55 +0000 UTCYeah, a new part. Any chance to get a hint what the next episode/series will be about? :D Keep up the great work and your mesmerizing voice. :)

2021-06-09 20:41:23 +0000 UTCStarted listening this morning already. Captivating as ever. Merci
2021-06-09 20:33:16 +0000 UTCThank. You. Dan. I was just in the midst of another run through of Wrath of the Khans (after my 12th? run of Blueprint for Armageddon) to find I have new content! You, without a doubt, have the best content (not podcast, CONTENT) out there. Keep doing what you’re doing! Congrats on wrapping up another monster series! Take some much deserved RnR! And start prepping for that Alexander the Great series… (just kidding… just kidding… sort of… no really, whatever topic you want… from Macedonia) Thank you again. I listen to HH almost everyday when I go out for a run or work. Hope all is well! -John
