Dragoness Desires General Update March 2024

Hiya guys, TAD here, back again, once again! It's March 2024 already and I am here with another general update regarding development of Dragoness Desires. How's development going, where are we and what's next?

For now, development is going slow, but steady! My partner in crime, Lucky, has managed to wrap up the AI for Amalynth. So her attacks are functional. He's now working on the player's attacks. We have the movement for the protagonist down, but now we need to make sure all the attacks work and do what they're intended to do. He requires the rest of this month to get that done, which means we can start to test out the battle somewhere at the end of March and / or the beginning of April. From there, it's really the question of how many small optimizations we need to implement before the battle is functional.

Then, there's the fact we're thinking of adding a phase 2 to the battle where Amalynth takes to the sky and flies. More of that later!

For now, I would like to show off some assets and mock-ups we've been working on as well. Take a look:

Here's the finished title-screen logo for Dragoness Desires.

Which would look like this on the title screen. This is, more or less, going to be the finalized look of the title-screen, without the animations, of course. Both the logo and the title screen itself have animations.

Then I have a few mock-ups to show. Keep in mind, these are mock-ups I created, to give an idea how it'll look inside of the game. It's not directly taken from the game itself yet.

Here's the full throne room scene. This is where the game starts. Of course, when playing the game, you won't see the entire room like this. That would be too big, so I have made another mock-up to give a rough idea what you can see when playing:

This will be, more or less, the size of the screen. It might still slightly change once we're actually play-testing, but this will give y'all a very general idea what the final product is going to look like.

Then I was talking about a phase 2 for Amalynth, the first boss y'all can face in the demo. While this game is still very NSFW, I also wanted to create a game that's fun and challenging to play. As y'all can see, I'm going all out with beautiful pixel art and buttery smooth animation. As such, the fights of this game will be the highlights, the NSFW your reward. In phase two the battlefield slightly changes and you have to face Amalynth while she's in the air. Animations for this are not yet made. We want to make sure phase 1 works as intended first, but once it does, it should not take as much time to implement phase 2.

So, how long until the demo is released? I suspected April first, but I think it's more fair to say it's somewhere in the summer of 2024. I don't want to rush this and give y'all a half-assed product. I won't release it until the demo works properly, to really build up that hype to the full game. I will ensure each and everyone of y'all that it will be worth it. I hope these snippets I show every now and then will keep you patient enough. X3

For now, that's all. I hope y'all have a very lovely week, take care and until the next time! <3

Gotcha. Not a huge fan of that type of game personally, but I've been wrong before so I'm all for it. Keep up the awesome work.

You're fine, hahahaha. This game will be a pixel animated boss rush game in the style of a side scroller. You will fight through a multitude of different dragonesses to uncover why they suddenly turned on the kingdom of Dragoon after living peacefully with humans for centuries. Every time you beat a dragoness, you will be rewarded with a fully pixel animated NSFW scene with the human knight you control, as well as one fully colored digital NSFW art of the knight having fun with the dragoness in question. The demo will cover the first dragoness, the main game will have five dragonesses in total.

This may be a stupid question, but is the game going to be 16bit side scroller?
