Order of the Phoenix - Meeting the CSI Agents
Added 2025-01-18 00:25:52 +0000 UTCHarry and Daphne stood at the front of the Great Hall, the soft hum of murmurs filling the space as the students and faculty waited for an explanation. Stepping aside, Harry gestured toward the group of strangers who had followed them into the hall.
"Everyone," Harry began, his voice steady but carrying a hint of exhaustion, "I’d like to introduce some new... guests. They’ll be staying with us for a while."
Daphne took a step forward, glancing at the four individuals standing behind her and Harry. "This is Horatio Caine," she said, motioning to the tall man with sandy hair and a calm yet authoritative presence. Horatio nodded politely, adjusting his sunglasses in a gesture that seemed almost habitual.
"Thank you," Horatio said, his voice smooth and measured. "It’s an honor to be here, though I’ll admit, this is not exactly what we’re used to."
Harry continued, "Next, we have Calleigh Duquesne. She’s... well, she’s great with forensic analysis and shooting things."
Calleigh gave a warm smile, her Southern drawl evident as she replied, "I think 'shooting things' might be oversimplifying, but I’ll take it. Thank you for the introduction, Harry. It’s wonderful to meet all of you."
Daphne gestured to the next man. "This is Eric Delko. He’s… incredibly resourceful."
Eric gave a slight grin and a wave. "I’m still processing all of this, to be honest, but it’s nice to meet everyone."
"And last," Harry said, motioning to the final man, "Ryan Wolfe. He’s sharp, incredibly observant, and… well, he’s already poked his head into every corner of the castle."
Ryan chuckled awkwardly, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "I couldn’t help myself. This place is... incredible. It’s like something out of a dream."
The hall remained silent for a moment as everyone took in the new arrivals. Then, a buzz of whispers broke out, students murmuring to one another, while the professors exchanged curious glances.
Daphne raised her hand slightly, quieting the crowd. "We know this is unusual, but we need to explain. These four... they kind of got caught up in a few things with us, and now the magical world isn’t quite as secret as it used to be."
Harry nodded. "They’ve seen a lot. Too much to just Obliviate and send on their way."
All eyes turned to Amelia Bones, who was sitting near the head table. She adjusted her monocle and sighed. "I received a message from MACUSA just before we resumed reading. I’m aware of the situation."
Daphne’s expression softened with relief as she looked back at Harry. "Thanks, Madam Bones," Harry said before turning his attention to the rest of the hall. "We should probably explain how all this happened."
Daphne took over. "It started when Lucius Malfoy kidnapped us from the hospital wing. He had some… elaborate plan, but it didn’t exactly work out the way he wanted."
Harry continued, "We ended up on a cross-country trip across America, dodging Death Eaters while trying to find MACUSA, and a lot of other things we didn’t even know existed."
Their words hung in the air for a moment before Horatio stepped forward, his sharp gaze scanning the room. "For us, this has been a journey into a world we never imagined. And while we’re out of our depth in many ways, we’re here to help however we can."
Calleigh, looking around the vast hall with a mix of wonder and curiosity, added, "We’ve seen things that defy logic, but we’ve also seen bravery and kindness. It’s an honor to be here."
Eric, rubbing the back of his neck, said, "Honestly, this place—this whole world—is amazing. It’s like stepping into a storybook. But I’ll admit, it’s also a little overwhelming."
Ryan couldn’t help but add, "Overwhelming? Try mind-blowing. I mean, moving staircases? Ghosts? And that’s just what we’ve seen so far."
The Great Hall erupted into laughter, the tension finally easing as the new arrivals’ awe and sincerity seemed to disarm the students and staff. Even McGonagall’s stern expression softened slightly.
Harry and Daphne exchanged a glance. "It’s a lot to take in," Daphne said. "But they’re with us now, and we’re going to need their help."
As the laughter died down, Dumbledore rose from his seat at the head table, his twinkling eyes settling on the group. "Welcome to Hogwarts," he said warmly. "I have no doubt that your presence here will prove to be both enlightening and... eventful."
The guests nodded, their expressions a mix of gratitude and curiosity. Harry couldn’t help but smile. For the first time in what felt like ages, he felt a sliver of hope amidst the chaos.

Is the story on hiatus? Do I need to drop the story for a few months? I really don’t want to do that as I enjoy the story’s premise very much.

2025-02-12 21:03:02 +0000 UTCI am enjoying the series vet much, particularly the regular updates. I do have 2 questions: is the 10 February update forthcoming. I live I Utah and was expecting it last night. Also, will there be a need to go through all 7 books? With the knowledge gained, wouldn’t characters in this series be able to resolve the Voldemort situation earlier?
