Dragon Drops, Updated Clips & Tiles!

I've added some new uploads to 000 New Files. There's a new Dragon Drops folder which contains a new grid and block system that is fully compatible with the existing tile set. You lay a grid piece then build up with the risers and levels using the new tiles (going into 000 New Files\Essentials Collection - Dungeon) that have clip holes in the bottom to accept the plugs for the blocks and decorative edges. There's also the DD Tile Tool v01 tool in the Dragon Drops Tool folder that lets you convert any standard tile into a Dragon Drop one with a built in plug and filled in clip holes! The grids come in varying sizes allowing you to slot them in where a room would be in your standard dungeon then build up, up, up!

Once you have your new block pieces together there's no need for clips as the grid holds everything in place perfectly. I've tested up to 3 levels high using the 90mm columns with no stability issues.

I'm putting an explainer graphic and build guide together for a layout that will be up in the next few days but jump on the Discord if you have any questions in the mean time and want to get a head start :) https://discord.gg/YubXDeFuFj

The new clip system is out in Tools\Dragons Rest Clip System and we now have a more streamlined, faster printing and stronger clip. These are backwards compatible but work best with the new holes being used in the new tiles. I'm working through upgrading all the basic tiles first then the HQ room layouts before moving onto anything needed in the sets with the new base hole (to allow for risers anywhere) and new clip holes.

Monthly code has been updated so refer to the pinned post here patreon.com/thedragonsrest for the latest one.

If you remove the "000 New Files" the rest of the folder structure should be roughly the same. Dragon Drop pieces are in Essentials - Dragon Drops Dungeon pieces are in Essentials - Dungeon

The Dragon's Rest

For the life of me I cannot find a link that points to the new files in 000 New Files\. I don't see 000 New Files\ in any of the links I have. It seems to have disappeared, or my memory of it has :p

Were you ever able to finish the build guide? I'm having trouble understanding this. Thanks :)

Bradley Gilmore

Interesting. I'll hop in the discord again if I have any questions. Thanks!

Stephen Gros

Hey Stephen, Thanks for joining! As the grid sizes are different between the two systems the standard plug and tiles are too large and engineered differently so a direct scale down to 30mm won't work. There's an adaptor plug that you can print though in 000 New Files\Set - Dragon Blocks\Tools\DB Adaptor 91.86% Plug Deep v01.STL. You print the adaptor at 100% and then all of the Dragon's Rest tiles, walls, clips etc at 91.86% to match the smaller grid. I can't guarantee everything will work like this but the test file worked fine. If you jump on the Discord I can send some pics to show :) If you wanted to scale the other way, you could always chop the bottoms off the other tiles in your slicer and scale them to 38.1mm to match the Dragon Blocks 1.5inch grid then position them on top of DB Plug v01.STL to print as a single piece.

The Dragon's Rest

Hi! I just joined the Patreon! I've been stalking it for a while and the Dragon Blocks system put me over the top. Thank you! Out of curiosity, are these compatible to mix and match with the Dungeon Blocks system?

Stephen Gros

I'm working on a build guide at the moment that uses the new pieces. Needed a few extra tiles though so hopefully out in the next couple of days :)

The Dragon's Rest

This is great as always, but I can't quite picture what it does in practice. Do you have any pics of some build ideas that use these layers? It feels like it needs something.
