Books & old relatives?!

So… I’ve just ordered a proof of the Core Chapter which is being printed as a Hardback square book for me right now. Fingers crossed that by some miracle everything is fine, and I can actually start selling the damn things!

I should know within the week.

Treasure the Elderly

This would have been done at least a week earlier were it not for both my grandparents deciding they’d like to pay several horrific trips to the hospital in quick succession. On the plus side, I have now made their home so automated, that future dealings with them should be a lot less stress inducing, but enough of my problems…

Affinity Publisher

I’ve been using Affinity Publisher v2 for the new iteration of books and I really know it back to front now- warts and all! It’s allowed for lots of automation- essential for such an epic job such as this- particularly with regards to the multiple formatting of covers- I need 4:

Two for a PDF- one for the cover and one for the preview

Paperback

Hardback

And of course, I need to format them in such a way as they all update when I make adjustments and they have multiple spine thicknesses etc. OH THE JOYS OF PUBLISHING!!!

EBook versions

Regardless of the outcome of the printed versions of the books, ebook versions should be available very very soon now (literally days), as they require much much less faffing about.

Full versions of chapters are back

One happy situation I find myself in due to the way Lulu (my online publisher) handles books is that I can have quite sizeable books. That happily means that I can make the Line and Flesh chapters just one book again, and not several smaller books as I had previously thought- The Flesh chapter was originally going to have to be in 3 parts!!

I’m so close now to get back to resuming my proper work and I can’t wait to getting back to making proper content, rather than endlessly reformatting what I’ve already created.

I am extremely grateful to all of you who are sticking by me while I get all this nonsense in order, and I may well create a video just on how I made all this come to be.
