February 23 Update

Hi everyone! How's it going?

Days are getting longer, light's getting brighter. But here it's business as usual.

Earlier this year, as you may have noticed, I started an original fantasy comic project, to try out a bit different way of telling a story.

Of course, I also hoped that presenting something more visual and unusual would bring us new followers. Which hasn't happened yet, but let's keep going.

The rough sketch/draft for the second chapter is finished and things unfold pretty much as intended. I'm positive I'll get to start posting pages here soon too. Hope you found the first part interesting and look forward to seeing more.

Only, the chapter was supposed to be under 10 pages, but it became 14 pages. That didn't quite go as planned. But not dramatically off, anyway.

Chapter 2 is mostly about bad parenting, with some handy self-defense tricks included. And no, I didn't even try to make the text legible. It's just to have a rough idea how much space the dialogue is going to take.

More about that in another update when it's ready for sharing.

As a small bonus, here are 3D renders of a knight sword, the model of which was used in the cover page of ch.1 and may be needed later too.

Meanwhile, I haven't abandoned my other works either!

My next book project is preparing Saintly Girls Zone Vol.3 for its release on Amazon. It's one of the works I'd initially published some years back through another distributor, and am now bringing back as a freshly revised (and in many parts rewritten) Kindle edition/paperback.

As with Vol.1-2, a pdf. copy of this book will be available for you guys here for no additional cost.

I hope you've made use of this privilege and checked out the previous parts.

I hope you enjoyed them too.

Although five volumes were originally written, I probably won't continue this series past the third part at this juncture. Because it's not selling...

I did a couple of giveaway campaigns for Vol.1, which moved over 150 copies in total, a positive surprise by itself. But no one rated or reviewed the book, or bought the sequel, so it ended up being a +-0 for me.

Does it really suck so much? I'm rather surprised. I had a lot of confidence in it.

Anyway, 3 is a beautiful number and having a trilogy feels better than having only two books, so I really want to get the third one out before giving up on it.

Speaking of third parts, my plan after this is to get the glorious, revised print edition of Old Empire available too. I already got a bit started on it.

Thankfully, by the third part of A Hero Past the 25th, I found the right gear for the narrative, and there's been a lot less fixing necessary in the early chapters than there was for Royal Banquet and Paradise After. The less changes needed, the faster the work goes. In theory. Speculatively.

I hope you look forward to meeting Carmelia and Waramoti again for the first time. As little sense as that sentence structure makes. Alas, the third part is probably where I'm going to have to stop with this print series.

Because it's not selling...

Anyway, future is often full of surprises, so rather than being skeptical about things, let's be positive and keep on pushing ahead.

In other news, I changed the tags here on Patreon. This is embarrassing, but I kind of misunderstood the whole purpose of the system. I thought it was a way for the general users of the website to find your posts, but it's really just a way to organize posts just on this page.

Well, now it's actually helpful for you guys.

By searching the "downloadables" tag, for example, lists you all the posts that have files on them you can download. There are tags for each series too. "AHP25" gets you all the posts related to A Hero Past the 25th, "character designs" gets the profile sheets, and so on. That should make a new patron's time here a lot less painful, as you can filter only the posts you're interested in.

Anyway, that's about all for now.

Thank you sincerely for your patronage and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Until next time!
