After the fateful conversation with Lord, Celestria began preparations for her new role. She was to act as a kind of middleman between the two differing cultures of demons and humans. Although there was no official title, she liked to think of herself as a cultural minister. It sounded grand. A cultural minister. The though brought a soft smile to her face as she read through a book on court proceedings pertaining to the King.
After a few days, It was time to begin work. Celestria travelled to the palace once more, steeling herself for yet another precarious venture. Once there, she met Lord’s right hand demon. A tall, graceful being called Meta. She could tell that he was not at all fond of her, but he would have to tolerate her just like she was tolerating him and all the other demons in the palace.
When they arrived at the office of the King, Lord was simply staring out the window. Dressed in loose, light-colored clothing, he looked almost ethereal with a mild cold breeze blowing into the room. Celestria would have been awestruck by his beauty if it weren’t for that near-crippling fear she was constantly battling and keeping in check.
“Greetings, Your Majesty. This humble subject has arrived.”
He hummed in response.
“I have come to put forward what I believe should be the first steps to solidifying your reign.”
Again, he hummed in response.
“As of now, the sentiment amongst the people is not positive. This will hinder the first thing that a King always has, which is a coronation. I think that we should work on the common people and give them a reason to accept you wholeheartedly.”
“And how will we do that?” Oh, he spoke. For a while, Celestria was taken aback. But she could never afford more than three seconds.
“In my humble opinion, there is only one thing that people are concerned with.”
“And that is?”
“Themselves.”
At this, Lord finally turned round to look at her. Perhaps he was mad at how she was lengthening things. Celestria did not know because she did not look at him in the eye.
“To change people’s opinion, I believe the new dynasty should mark its beginning with a charity event for the disenfranchised in our kingdom.”
