Weekly RJ Update

There's not anything specific I wanted to write about myself this week, so I thought I'd just tell you all what I've been up to this last week, outside of working on the game (Which I do almost every day for 6-8 hours).

I've told you all my major hobbies at this point: gardening, cooking, playing video games, watching movies, playing D&D - that's pretty much what I did this last week, but let's go into some details.

Gardening: I live in a hot, humid environment and my garden hasn't been doing great the last few weeks. It's just so hot outside (regularly around 95-100F in the mid-day). It's killing most of my plants. I do have tomatoes growing right now pretty good though. I'll be planting some Brocolli, Carrot, and lettuce seeds soon as well to grow during the upcoming fall months. I can't wait. I love fall - it's easily my favorite time of year.

Cooking: I cook every night - a lot of the same type of stuff in rotation. I love making homemade pizza, I love tacos and could eat them basically every night, I love grilling outside (I have a nice propane grill, but I also use my charcoal grill for some things that just taste better that way). I also cook a lot of vegetables though, sweet potatoes being my favorite. I think the only new recipe I did this last week was a Honey Garlic Chicken where I took chicken leg quarters and rubbed them with spices then roasted them and glazed them with a honey garlic glaze. It was really good, though I'm not a huge fan of meat anymore, my partner is. I'm nearly vegetarian, but there's a few things that I haven't been able to make myself give up yet.

Video Games: I've been playing Deadly Premonition 2 on the Switch mostly. I really enjoyed the first game. It's super-cheesy and not very well made, but it has this Twin Peaks vibe that I love and it makes me laugh with how awkward it is at times. DP2 is the same stuff, just with a different atmosphere. I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

D&D: I'm actually getting ready to play Pathfinder 2nd Edition. I'm going to run a game in a few weeks, so I've been doing a little prep-work for it. I like crafting my own terrain and props for the game, so this last week I made some wagons and I'm working on a tavern set for my players. I also painted some miniatures, which is something I really enjoy doing.

Movies / TV: We watched It: Chapter 2, which I didn't like at all. Short Circuit 2, which I loved from my childhood and still think is really good. Also watched the new Child's Play movie, which was fun and better than I expected. We've also been watching Brooklyn 99 - I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I'm enjoying it so far. Been watching Miami Vice as well. I can't believe how good this show is for the time-period that it came out in. It's pretty amazing to me, as I don't think there were very many television shows on in 1985 of this quality. I'm really liking it.

So yep, there's my hobby updates for the week. Not a whole lot else going on here right now. I'm still fighting with my truck a bit (I think the fuel injectors are clogged so I'm running cleaner through the gas tank). I'm trying to stay away from social media, since that tends to get me down, but it's hard when you're trying to promote a game and you're genuinely curious about what's happening in the world. I've been feeling pretty good overall this week though, and really enjoying working on the game.

Hope you all had a great weekend and thank you as always. Love you all.
