Chapter 4 Roadmap

Hello all. Chapter 3 just released, but let's talk about Chapter 4. 

I keep jumping in over my head and making each chapter bigger and bigger and bigger. This one is once again the biggest chapter so far.

NEW SCENES

To start with, we have 24 new scenes. These include new scenes for Lisa, Suzy, Mari, Izzy, Dana, Jamie, Kendra, Mrs. McGee, Juliana, Tammy, Adrian, Dana, Gertrude, and Detective Rodriguez. There's also a series of new scenes that lead to more information about Dad's disappearance.

NEW CHARACTERS

To this already large list of characters, I'm also adding two more new characters in this chapter. One, who we've seen before, is a food blogger who set the record for the most burgers eaten at Jackson Burger. The second is a guy who works at Cafe Skyhill when Juliana is not working. In addition to the character scenes, there is also a new Jamie Window scene. 

NEW IMAGES AND ANIMATIONS

Because of all of these scenes, there are a lot of new images and animations to add. The numbers I've put above will probably change as I continue writing the chapter. 

NEW LOCATION

There is one new location: The bar. There is a scene that happens here in this chapter. In future chapters, you will be able to go to the bar to pick up dates or just to chill and have a drink. You will also be able to take somebody on a date here. 

DATES

Speaking of Dates, let's talk about that a bit. There are a lot of new functions in this chapter, but dates is probably the most important. 

Going on a date is an integral part of the game. At some point, you wont be able to gain any more affection with a character without taking them on a date. You will gain affection with a character based on how the date goes. 

A date is judged by a few different criteria:

1. Appearance - What you are wearing. In future chapters, you will be able to change clothes when you go on a date.

2. Location - Where you take your date. Some people prefer different locations over others, but nobody wants to go to the same place over and over again.

3. Conversation - All dates are composed of conversations. What you choose to talk about and how you respond to your date will affect the date's outcome.

4. The End - A date can end in various ways, based on how the date went and your affection with the person you're dating. 

And that's it. As you can imagine, with the many ways that a date could go, there's a lot of stuff to write here. I'm going to be adding more every chapter, but this chapter is laying the groundwork for all of that. In this chapter, the only girl you will be able to take on a date is Mari, and the only places you can take her is the Park or Java Lava. There will be much more added later though. 

NEW FUNCTIONS

The Phone - You're going to be able to get more phone numbers in this chapter - specifically from Mari and Adrian, 

The Laptop - There's going to be a social media thing that you can check occasionally added.

Study with Juliana - You'll be able to study English at Cafe Skyhill with Juliana in the mornings to gain English Knowledge and Affection with Juliana.

MMA Training with Tammy - You'll be able to train MMA with Tammy in the mornings on weekends. Doing this will gain you Fighting Knowledge and Affection with Tammy.

Dad's Laptop - Breaking through your dad's laptop password requires a little help, and once you do you'll be able to dig through his e-mails to attempt to find clues as to what happened to him. 

Counsilor Chats - You'll be able to go to Gertrude's office in the mornings to chat with her about your life. 

Work Spare Time - On most days at work, you'll get a little time before starting work to do something productive (homework, chat with Dana, chat with Mrs. Mills). This is how you will gain more affection with Dana and Mrs. Mills, which will unlock more scenes.  

CHANGES

Removing Minigames - I'm removing the minigames for your English and Social Studies tests, and instead basing your grade off of the amount of studying you did for the test. This will make it easier on me as I don't have to program a mini-game, but I also think it fits more with the game's themes of time-management, as you will have to spend some time studying to get a good grade. 

Remodeling Juliana - I'm re-doing Juliana's character model. Will post a preview of that as soon as I can.

$1 Patrons - September 11th

Public - September 25th

These are the release dates planned right now, but I'll be honest and say that I'm not completely sure I'm going to make them this time. I may need an extra week or two on this chapter, depending how things go. 

CONCLUSION

I think that's it. A lot of stuff right? It's exciting and I'm enjoying writing and putting together the scenes so far.  Hope you are all enjoying Chapter 3 and are excited about the future of the game. Love you all and thanks as always.
