RJ Update
Added 2020-08-24 14:11:39 +0000 UTCLast week was rough y'all. Not a horrible week, just rough.
Started off the week cleaning a house full of bedbugs so that I could make a little money. That was not fun. Worked on that for a few hours a day Monday through Wednesday.
Tuesday, our air conditioning at home went out. I thought it would be a simple fix - I flushed out the outside vents, changed the filter, shut it down and restarted it. Still no AC. Had to call somebody in and he told me that the evaporator coils are all clogged and rusted out, so we have to replace that. Estimated around $2000 to fix. I don't have $2000 and A/C is not optional in Texas where it's been regularly over 100 degrees in the daytime. So we bought window units and I spent Thursday replacing power outlets so that the plugs fit snugly and installing three window units in the house.
Also on Wednesday, our water heater stopped working. Again, I figured I could fix it. It's done this before, where the pilot light wont stay lit, and I'd pull out the thermopile, scrub it with some steel wool and try it again, no problem. Didn't work this time. So we bought a new thermopile. I installed it on Thursday. The wires were a little different, so I had to snip the wires off the old thermopile and splice them onto the new one. I installed it, and still no luck Wasn't working. GREAT!
So my mom suggests my cousin come over and take a look. I'm not a huge fan of my family, and I don't even know this cousin very well. He's always been kind of an asshole to me, so I don't really talk to him. Anyways, I relent and say "fine, let him come over." So he comes over and starts looking at it, treating me like an idiot when he obviously doesn't know any more about it than I do. While he's fucking around with it, he wiggles one of the wires that I spliced and it makes a connection and that's what was wrong with it. He takes all the credit for fixing it, even though the only problem was that I didn't get the connection quite right when I spliced the wires. But he's the smart mechanic guy and I'm just the unemployed girl who sometimes fiddles around with stuff.
I have a little resentment.
So, rough week, but now everything is working again. Been working as much as I can on the game during the day, and working on my D&D game at night. I'm going to be running a Pathfinder 2nd Edition game soon and I'm SO excited about it. Also still been playing Diablo 3, trying to complete the new season with my Tempest Rush Monk. I love playing while listening to podcasts. Been listening to The Fall of Plaguestone Roll for Combat podcast lately, because that is the Pathfinder adventure that I'll be running soon and I can't get enough of it.
Okay, that's all the rambling I can do today. Going to get to work on the game now. Hope you guys had a great weekend. Love ya.
