RJ Ramblings

Usually in these Monday ramblings, I talk about things I've been doing non-game related, but that's going to be really hard to do today, as my life has been so focused on making this game for the last couple of weeks that I don't think I've really done anything else.
It's definitely been a means of escape. There were days that I spent on the computer, without really talking to anybody except the folk on my Discord, and without checking any of the media sites. Then I'd go to bed and look at my phone and see that all this shit has happened and I didn't even know about it because in my mind I was in Skyhill, having a bunch of sex with my pretend people.
This last weekend was pretty wild. I always get stressed out around the release of a new update. I feel excited about it, because I get to show you all this thing I've been working on for a couple months, but I also get very nervous and my brain starts doing that self-hate thing that it does. Are they going to like it? Did you fuck everything up? Is the game going to even work?
But the outpouring of positive feedback I've gotten this weekend has been amazing and has made me feel SO good about the game. Having people tell me they love my game is the best feeling in the world, and makes all the stress absolutely worth it. There's been a big influx of patrons, which is always nice as well.
I'm going to try to spend a little more time away from the computer over the next week or two. Hopefully next Monday, I'll have something more interesting to talk about.
