Today doesn't feel like a Monday to me. It still feels like the weekend. Maybe because it's Labor Day so everything is closed. I actually went to sleep early last night, so I woke up early this morning and have been up for the last couple of hours playing Sea of Stars. So yeah, it feels like the weekend to me and my brain doesn't want to get to work, haha!
The last week, I've been playing video games a bit. Still playing Baldur's Gate 3. I bought it again yesterday on PS5, hoping that my partner and I would be able to play it together. Only afterward did I find out that you cannot play cross-platform. So that sucks. So instead, we're just passing the controller back and forth and playing together like that.
I've also been playing Sea of Stars, which is really fun so far. Very old-school JRPG, like Chrono Trigger, and super cute. Enjoying it quite a bit.
Watched a couple of movies. Watched The Northman, which I thought was pretty great. And watched The Super Mario Bros. Movie last night, which I thought was very pretty, but disappointing.
On Saturday, my partner and I went on a long hike. The longest hike we've ever done. It was supposed to be 6.5 miles, but my watch afterwards said that we'd actually walked 8.5 miles. I'm not sure if that's because we went off trail a bit, or because that trail was not measured correctly. Either way, I hiked 8.5 miles. Towards the end, my partner started feeling really bad. I was afraid she was going to pass out, so I made her stay behind by the road and I walked the last mile and a half myself to get back to the car, then go pick her up. I was getting pretty exhausted by the end too. We're both fine now, but just pushed ourselves a little too hard, too fast. Should have built up to 8.5 a little more and done the trail in segments.
I was able to do it though, which made me feel good. Makes me want to do more. My legs were sore yesterday, but now I'm kinda ready to get back out there. Unfortunately, it's going to get hot again this week, so probably not going anywhere again for a bit.
I think that's about all I've been up to? Been working on some D&D stuff as well still, and writing a little on a side project. And the normal housekeeping and dealing with animals stuff that I always do. Always busy, busy.
Anyways, back to work for me. Love y'all!

It was actually pretty nice out when we went hiking. That's why we went on that day. Was in the 70s the whole time and had a nice breeze. Now we're back up in the 90s and 100s again though. Blah.

2023-09-04 17:54:36 +0000 UTCIt wasn't quite sheer, but we hit some spots like that when we were hiking at Broken Bow in Oklahoma a couple months ago. And Anne's Canyon in San Diego had a tough climb too, but fortunately there were ladder rungs in the side of the wall to climb up lol My partner is not good with heights. Climbing is a no-go for her. I'd do it!

2023-09-04 15:45:39 +0000 UTCLove a good hike. At least there weren't any sheer rock walls like the "moderate" trail I picked on Kauai... That got my trail picking privileges taken away from me for a while. π€£
