Hey everybody! This last week has been me getting into a new routine. I started seeing a personal trainer, and she's been wearing me out on Mondays and Fridays. The first couple sessions were rough, but I always feel really good afterwards. Then I feel sore as well, but it's a good sore. Already, I feel like I'm getting stronger, and that's what I really want.

Aside from that, I've been playing a lot of Persona 3: Reload. I'd never played Persona 3 before, but I loved Persona 4 and 5, so this remake was something I had been interested in.

I'm sure a lot of you don't know or care about the Persona games, but Persona 5 was actually a pretty huge inspiration for Come Home. Around the same time I was playing Persona 5, I had started writing erotica. Those two things kind of mixed in my brain and became Come Home.

Persona is a mix of dungeon crawling and social simulator. You choose what you want to do during the day, who you want to spend time with, how you want to advance your skills. Then at night, you venture into a dungeon.

My original idea went something like that as well. I had to scale back a little, because I was new and didn't really know what I was doing. Making a dungeon crawler was a little out of my scope. Originally Come Home had stats and minigames though. And it was originally supposed to have a limited number of days. Eventually, I scaled all of that back and focused instead of player freedom and the romance with the characters. I think that was a good choice, but I still have this idea in my mind for a dungeon crawler/social sim, closer to Persona.

So, playing Persona 3 has actually been really inspiring for me. Aside from just being a very fun game, it's been stirring up a lot of ideas. I keep a notebook beside me when I'm playing and just write anything that pops into my mind. It's been really good for me, I think. I'm having fun, plus also scratching a creative itch that hasn't been scratched in a while.
