I'm feeling pretty good this week. Last week was busy and hectic and I didn't get as much work done as I'd like, and I spent a couple days stressed out wishing that there were more hours because I have SO much to do all the time -- but overall it was good.
First of all, my turtle, who I've had for 9 years and was never sure if she was a male or a female, decided to answer that question by laying eggs. This kinda threw my whole head for a loop, because I wasn't aware this was a thing that she was going to do and now I have to find a way to give her an appropriate place to lay her eggs, or else she wont lay them and they could cause health problems. Right now, she only laid two, but from my research they should lay multiple clutches of several eggs, spaced a couple weeks apart. So we'll be dealing with this for a while. I cleaned up my fenced-in back garden and have been keeping her out there when I can. But of course the dogs are being assholes and barking at her the entire time she's out there, and they even tore up the fencing the other day, ripping up the staples that were holding it in. So I had to go out and repair the fencing, this time using those U-shaped nails to hold it in. I think I have that covered now, and hope that she'll lay the rest of her eggs. I can tell she has more inside of her, because I can feel them if I touch her butt, like right under the skin.
I took one day off last week. On Wednesday, my partner and I went to the zoo and spent a few hours just having fun looking at the animals and walking around. It was a beautiful day and I had a lot of fun spending it with her. We went out to eat at this new Hispanic-Vietnamese fusion restaurant, which was pretty good. Also the first time I've eaten inside a restaurant in a long time, due to the pandemic, but the tables were spaced far apart, people were wearing masks (when they weren't eating) and overall it felt pretty safe, so I took the chance. Was a really great day.
Thursday, my partner and I both got our first dose of the covid vaccine, which was kind of a relief, because I had no idea when we were going to be eligible for them. I didn't have any side effects from it, but my partner's arm was aching a lot for the rest of the day and the next day. Looking forward to when we're vaccinated completely and everybody else is too, and hopeful that this virus will finally gtfo and I can hang out with my friends without wearing masks.
Alright, I think that's enough rambling for today. I'm looking forward to getting to work on the game this week and pushing that progress bar way up.
Love you all! Hope you have a fantastic week.

2021-04-12 13:41:55 +0000 UTCI’ve had both shots, in my non-dominate arm (hand). My arm also was sore, worse after second shot (Pfizer). Hope the zoo inspired you to have an animal somehow in the story—a forevermore kinda tribute to your visit.
