RJ Ramblings

I might be extra rambly today, because my brain feels like its all over the place.

The last week, aside from working on the game a lot, I also wrote some on another idea I have that will hopefully become a game in the future one day - a sort of detective mystery game (with porn). I wrote several pages outlining characters and the main plot and I feel like it's coming together really well and I'm pretty excited about it. Again, this is just something I'm working on in my spare time that will not see any sort of release until far in the future after Come Home is finished, but I'm always working on future ideas when the inspiration hits.

Konami released a collection of the Gameboy Advanced Castlevania games on the Switch and I've been playing through Circle of the Moon again. I love these games so much. I love almost all of the Castlevania games, but the GBA ones are special for me, because they're they ones that got me into the series.

I've still been reading a lot as well. I finished the crime novel I was reading called "Money Shot", which was pretty good, and started another one called "Fade to Blonde", which is okay so far, but hasn't really grabbed me. Also finished re-reading "Y: The Last Man". I'd forgotten so much about that series, that it was sort of like reading it for the first time all over again, even though it's actually my third time. The ending just absolutely destroyed me and left me crying in bed for a couple of hours. It's such a fantastic series, and one of my favorite comic books ever.

After finishing Y: The Last Man, I've been obsessing over Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillip's crime comics. I read through their two most recent graphic novels called "Reckless", and the sequel "Destroy All Monsters". Both were incredible. I love everything from these guys that I've ever read - The Fade Out is amazing, Criminal, and then Brubaker's Marvel work as well on Daredevil and Captain America is some of my favorite Marvel books. I'm REALLY into Brubaker right now and am going to probably track down and read most of his stuff over the next few months. I started in on "My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies" now.

I've been wanting to go to the beach so badly lately. Like a nice vacation with just me and my partner. I haven't been to the beach in about 6 years - it's an 8-10 hour drive from where I live. We're putting together a little money to try to make a trip to San Diego next year though, as she has always wanted to go to the zoo there and I just want to walk and lay around on the beach or watch the sunset while writing. I'm hoping we'll be able to do this soon.

I hit 200 patrons yesterday! Thank you all so much. It makes me feel incredible that so many people want to help support me and my game. I'm just so happy right now, it's hard to express.

Okay that's it. Time for me to get to work. Love you all!

I hit 200 patrons yesterday! Yay!
