Update 13 Progress

Hey everybody! Hope you all enjoyed that trailer last week. As you see, I've been keeping a thing or two hidden from you all. 

Back in like July, I think, I was driving to go pick up my partner from her parents house, a 4 hour drive, and the whole way, I was thinking about how I would add voice acting to the game, if I decided to do it. By the time I got back home, I had basically decided that I wanted to, but didn't know when I would do it.  

Then I just sort of stumbled into meeting HaruLuna and we got to talking and I thought that her voice would work for Kendra, who is the person I wanted to add voices for the most anyway. So I hired her to do that, about a month ago, telling her that I didn't need the lines any time soon because I wasn't planning on putting them in the game until Update 14, which will likely be next February/March.   

Then, last Tuesday, she got back to me with the audio. And I was like, hm... I'm almost done with the things I had planned for this update and I still have some time left. Maybe I will put the audio in this update. And I slept on it. And I thought about it. And then I was like, well if I put the audio in the game, I kinda want to release a trailer showcasing it. So ALL of that happened, then I worked my butt off learning how to implement the audio, getting Adrian's DLC ready so that I could showcase it as well, putting everything together in the trailer, and finishing up the Update. That was all last week. 

I realize not everybody is going to want voices in the game, or like a particular voice of a character. You'll be able to adjust the voice volume and sound volume in the menu - just turn those down if you don't like voices or sex sounds in the game. Also, later, when I have voices for other characters, I'm planning on adding an option to toggle of specific voices if there's just a specific character that you don't care for their voice, but you like the rest.

But I had enough people asking for voices in the game that I felt like it was something I could do. And I think the people that do like voices are going to be happy with the sounds that Kendra makes. 

So, this week, what did I work on? 

Well, the update is completely finished now. I've also added in a bonus sex scene with Dana, on top of all the things I originally planned for in the update, based on what you guys voted for a month or two ago. So, now I've moved into the testing phase, and I'll be spending about a week testing every bit of the update that I can. This update needs a little more testing than most, because I've significantly changed how the progression system works. 

I got pretty sick this week, so I haven't done as much as I would like, unfortunately, but I think I'm still moving at a decent pace and should have the update in the hands of my alpha testers by next week.
