Hey everybody! Happy Halloween!
I hope you've enjoyed these little renders. They were really fun for me to make.
I've always been into horror movies, but I tend to enjoy ones from the 80s, where things didn't tend to be so serious or mean-spirited. There's been some great modern horror as well, but I have gotten to where I don't enjoy them as much unless they are FUN horror. Watching people get murdered isn't enjoyable unless I can separate it from reality.
Anyways, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Halloween are like the BIG THREE series in horror, so I focused on them this year. This was fun enough that I could see myself doing something similar next year with a different set of movies.
If you want my thoughts on these franchises, or even if you don't (it's my ramblings, shut up):
Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise. I enjoy almost every movie in the franchise and have watched them many many times. None of the movies are fantastic on their own, but as a whole they are really fun. My rankings for them from best to worst are (6, 4, 10, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, Remake, 8, FvJ, 9).
Nightmare on Elm Street is super fun and creative, but I've never liked the series as much as a lot of other people do. It's probably my least favorite series of the three, although I recognize that most of the movies are generally better than the other two. I've just never liked Freddy as a villain as much as Jason or Michael. My rankings for them from best to worse are (1, 3, 7, 2, 4, 5, 6, Remake).
And Halloween. The first movie is an absolute classic and by far my favorite horror movie from any of these three franchises, but the rest of the series is a bunch of nonsense, and Halloween 3 isn't even about Michael Myers (but I still love it). It's probably the worst series of the three in terms of quality, but I still kind of enjoy all of them to some extent. Even the really bad ones. My rankings for them from best to worst are (1, 2, H20, 4, 3, 2018, Ends, Remake, 5, 6, 8, Kills, Remake2)
Ugh, with all the remakes and the non numbered movies, they make it so hard to do a rankings list like that, lol. Like three of you probably cared, but I like to do those sometimes anyway. Moving on --
Halloween is my favorite holiday, but it's also me and my partner's anniversary. We've been together for 9 years now, and I think we're probably stuck together for life at this point. She's the best and I'm still crazy in love with her, so yeah. We're going to be spending the day at home together, because we're old. Going to eat out, watch some horror movies, and just chill. Going to be a good day.
Hope you all have a great Halloween too! Love ya!
