Last week was kinda wild. Fell out of routine on a lot of things and just had a lot going on in personal life.
We had a big Dia de los Muertos celebration on Saturday that my partner was selling her artwork at. So she's been stressed about that all week (and for several weeks before). She had to get everything ready for it and I had to help with that. On Saturday morning, as soon as I crawled out of bed, we were in scramble mode, driving everything out to the site, getting in our costumes, and setting everything up to sell. She did really well though and we had a lot of fun. I had planned on only being there for a little while, because my anxiety is pretty bad at events like that, but I ended up actually staying the full day.
Besides that, last week I had to change the alternator in my truck. I'd been meaning to do that since June. I actually bought an alternator way back then, but hadn't ever gone out and changed it. We've had the new car to drive, so didn't have any reason to drive the truck. But we needed it for the festival, so I had to fix it. As soon as I got started on it, I noticed that the alternator I bought back in June had the wrong bolt pattern. And the return policy is only good for 90 days. Soooo, I had to buy another alternator. Had it delivered overnight, and put it in the next day. First time doing that particular bit of mechanics work, so I felt pretty proud of myself for that.
With all this going on, and the weather being pretty shitty, I've fallen behind on my hiking. We're starting back up today though and gonna try to go every day this week, either hiking or running.
There's been a lot more going on, great movies I've watched (The Fly, Inferno, Popcorn, etc.), an arrest made in the Delphi murders (a case that I've been following for over 5 years and feel very strongly about), and the book I started reading (Fairy Tale, by Stephen King), but I don't have enough time to ramble about all of that really - gotta get going. Hopefully back on routine today.

2022-11-07 22:12:52 +0000 UTCMake sure to check the ground wire to the frame from the battery. If that is corroded or partially broken, will burn out the alternator fast. Cheap insurance to change it anyways for 15 bucks. And not sure if you knew, but most cars that are 30 years old and newer on the belt tensioner have a spot for when you compress them, to put a pin in to hold them. But keep up the good work on the project!
