Nothing much new to talk about around here, I don't think. Life's been pretty boring. I've been spending my extra time working on my Lego buildings or playing games on my phone mostly. I've also been trying to make myself leave the house a little more often.
The last week, I've honestly been kinda depressed. Part of being a developer is doing a lot of work by myself. I have my partner, who is great, but other than that, I talk to very few people in real life. So I tend to rely a little too much on online friends for socialization. And those online friends cannot always be available.
I've been feeling pretty lonely, wishing I had more friends in real life. My D&D group hasn't met since early December, because of sicknesses and scheduling conflicts. We're hoping to meet this next Sunday, so that will be nice.
I also recognize that I need a break from working, as I haven't done much outside of working on the game in some time, but there's nothing particular that I want to do. Taking time off doesn't seem particularly rewarding when there's nowhere I want to go and nothing I want to do during that time.
I'm hoping things will be a little better in a few months, when we can hopefully move and I won't feel trapped in this house all the time.
Okay, that's it. Don't worry about me too much. I'm doing okay. Just a little sad, you know? Hopefully next weeks Ramblings will be a little happier. I hope you're all doing great. Love ya!

Sorry to hear your DnD group has been more sporadic, I know what that's like. And so much of our modern society tends toward isolation. My last job was so compartmentalized, the only time I usually saw coworkers was if something was wrong. Then I got a troubleshooting job so it's more of the same. Anyway, I relate to a lot of this. I also partly blame the winter blahs. =P

2023-01-23 15:27:21 +0000 UTCChin up. Something will change for the better. I apologize for these cliches. On a less groaning note, I will be stepping up my Lego game, in that I will be tackling the big ones this year. I hope to do the Titanic as well as the Eiffel Tower. I love the building of them as well as deconstructing for resale.

2023-01-23 15:04:56 +0000 UTCoooh, I see. OK. Here's a plan for ya. Kidnap your DnD group. Play every day at home. This will help to exile the owner, get ownership over the house, then exile DnD group back to their houses. Profit.

2023-01-23 14:44:49 +0000 UTCWith the pandemic, working from home over the last few years has been very intense and draining, and pretty lonely socially at times. We definitely need to meet other humans in real to have a balanced and healthy life.
2023-01-23 14:37:46 +0000 UTCLego building is very important. I have a pending one, International Space Station to build and hang in the attic. Maybe you want to try BG3 coop while your group is recovering? There are always ppl looking for a group in the Steam discussions, there's even a specific sub forum for this

2023-01-23 14:36:33 +0000 UTCI certainly hope you can meet with your DnD group soon. Trust me, I can understand loneliness at times even being with the love of your life. You each still have your own lives to live and it's nice to have other inputs and outlets. I certainly hope you find your happy place and get a chance to cheer up, even if only for a little while. You definitely deserve to be happy and seem a genuinely kind soul. If there were more like you, the world would be a better place π *hugs*
